ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY:

  • A Maintenance Mechanic for Shift Midnights #918: Wednesday-Thursday-Friday-Saturday 9:00 pm-7:00 am

  • The hourly wage $34.07, upon completion of training and demonstration of skill competency, the pay will increase to $37.27

  • Candidates who demonstrate exceptional performance, a strong work history, and proven mechanical aptitude may be considered for promotion to an A+ Mechanic role. Advancement is based on reliability, skill development, and the ability to consistently exceed expectations in current responsibilities. Hourly wage rate for A+: $40.90.

ROLE SUMMARY:

Performs complex, skilled craftwork in the installation, maintenance and repair of mechanical and electrical components and equipment of a semi-automated production and distribution facility.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (*denotes essential job functions):

  • Knowledge of electrical, PLC troubleshooting, steel fabrication, machine repair, lathes, mills, rigging, plumbing and gearbox rebuilds. 
  • Welding fabrication to include fitting and welding piping of all types.
  • Installs and maintains pumps, compressors, and related machinery
  • May repair parts using simple lathes, mills, and drill presses
  • Performs rigging, ironworking, and boiler making
  • Non-routine duties as assigned
  • Work any shift during the week as well as weekend rotation
  • Operate forklift in a safe and timely manner.

MINIMUM EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

  • Minimum of a High School Diploma / GED is required
  • Five years multi-skilled Maintenance Experience required

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  • Use safe operating procedures and judgment
  • Follow all facility rules to maintain quality and integrity of both raw materials and finished products
  • Lift 50 pounds consistently
  • Familiar with the plant food safety program and basic HACCP principles.

Summary of A+ DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (*denotes essential job functions):

  • Build, install, calibrate, maintain production equipment in a 24/7/365 manufacturing operation.
  • Identify solutions to on-site technical problems involving electrical systems and production equipment.
  • Prepare, review, and coordinate ongoing plant upgrades with the Technical Department.
  • Be willing to assist other departments within the plant to restore operations and educate personnel.
  • Build and or test electrical components of plant equipment and accurately interpret data.
  • Collaborate with engineering or other personnel to identify, define, or solve problems.
  • Evaluate engineering proposals, shop drawings, or designs for sound electrical engineering practice or conformance with established safety criteria.
  • Review existing electrical engineering criteria to identify necessary revisions, deletions, or amendments to outdated material.
  • Write and update procedures / SOPs to help others perform their tasks (EX HMI Functions).
  • Plan, modify and test plant equipment controls packages for sequence of operations improvements (Lean activities)
  • Plan electrical projects or worktime estimates for plant equipment rebuilds.
  • Electrically: Knowledge of electrical, PLC troubleshooting, Servo and VFD drive principles.

Summary of A+  MINIMUM EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

  • Associate degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school, or current Journeyman or Plant Electrician License
  • Five years related controls experience.
  • PLC Controls Programming and troubleshooting (Allen Bradley preferred)
  • Combination of education and experience to above will be considered.
  • Lift 50 pounds consistently
