Job Description

These highly visible positions are located at our York, PA Facility. We have two different roles available outlined below. Please note that preferences for role type and shift will be taken into consideration, but final decisions will be based on experience, skillset, and shift availability.  

Production and Packaging Operators

  • D Shift, Thurs-Fri, 5:30am-2:00pm, Sat-Sun, 5:30am-5:30pm
  • E Shift, Mon-Tues, 5:30am-2:00pm, Sat -Sun, 5:30am-5:30pm
  • B Shift, Mon-Fri, 1:30pm-10:00pm
  • C Shift, Mon-Fri, 9:30pm-6:00am
  • F Shift, Thurs-Fri, 9:30pm-6:00am, Sat-Sun, 5:30pm-5:30am
  • G Shift, Mon-Tues, 9:30pm-6:00am, Sat-Sun, 5:30am-5:30pm

Starting Pay Rate - $22.55/hour

What you’ll do (Packaging Operator)

  • This position will be responsible for working in a variety of functions within the VMS manufacturing area, such as stacking/sorting/distributing bulk product and material, hand palletizing, sorting product, Moen operation and raw material management (bottles, caps, corrugate).

Essential Functions (Packaging Operator)

  • Responsible at all times for promoting a safety culture and awareness within their area. 
  • Support and adhere to all plant safety policies and procedures at all times.
  • Assist manufacturing with inspection, sorting and bagging process for bulk product. 
  • Remove defects as needed (i.e. deformed, discolored, misshaped, etc.)
  • Management of bulk product from clean room to the packaging area, sorting/stacking/cleaning trays to be returned to clean room as needed.
  • Visual sorting and declumping of bulk product prior to packaging process.
  • Supplying hoppers with bottles, caps and other raw materials as needed.
  • Supply bottle conveyor for metal detection, capping and induction sealing.
  • Identify, retrieve and inspect pallets, apply case labels as needed. 
  • Moen operation, including erecting cases trays and displays.
  • Breakdown of excess corrugate for bailing. Proper communications protocol with all manufacturing, quality and other operations staff to communicate and escalate product or equipment issues as needed.
  • Equipment operation to include, but is not limited to:  heat tunnel, sealer, checkweigher and palletizer. Ensures all quality and food safety practices are followed at all times.
  • Assist in line clearance, cleaning and sanitization procedures as needed.
  • Assist with the training and certification program as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.

What you’ll do (Production Operator)

  • This manufacturing position will be responsible assisting in all areas of production operations, including but not limited to, operating Moen box making equipment, assisting in the bottle dumping area

Essential Functions (Production Operator)

  • Responsible at all times for promoting a safety culture and awareness within their area. 
  • Support and adhere to all plant safety policies and procedures at all times.
  • Safe and efficient equipment operation to meet or exceed all quality, scheduling and customer requirements. 
  • Assist with machine set-up and changeovers. Assist with equipment preventative maintenance, including cleaning and lubrication of machinery. Ensure all quality standards are met, i.e. right material components being run on the right lines, etc.
  • Assist with special projects and assignments such as rework, hand stacking, etc.
  • Participate in continuous improvement teams to identify and resolve areas of downtime, etc.
  • Assist with the training and certification program as needed. Other duties as assigned.

Education Experience

  • High school diploma or GED required (both roles)
  • One (1) year work experience that could likely provide the required knowledge and abilities needed to perform the job (both roles)
  • Prior manufacturing experience in a GMP environment preferred (food manufacturing, pharmaceutical manufacturing, etc.) 1 – 3 years' experience in a fast-paced lean manufacturing environment preferred. (Packaging Operator)
  • Strong mechanical aptitude preferred Knowledge of computer operations a plus (Production Operator)
