ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY
Position: Materials Manager
Schedule: Monday–Friday
Compensation: $127,500 – $191,200 annually
Eligible for Annual Bonus

ROLE SUMMARY
Prepares and schedules production for plant products. Leads the raw material and packaging material inventory process.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
*Contributes to the completion of organizational projects and goals. Errors in judgment or failure to achieve results would normally require a moderate expenditure of resources to rectify.
*Develops solutions to a variety of problems of moderate scope and complexity. *Refers to policies and practices for guidance.
*Works under only very general supervision. Work is reviewed for soundness of judgment and overall adequacy and accuracy.
*Maintains frequent internal and external contacts and represents the organization on specific projects.
*Applies general knowledge of industry practices, techniques, and standards with general application of concepts and principles.
*Schedules production lines to meet customer delivery requirements and optimally utilize production capacity.
*Prepares a master schedule to establish production sequences and lead times for each packaging operation to meet shipping dates according to sales forecasts or customer orders.
*Expedites operations that delay schedules and modifies schedules to meet unforeseen circumstances.
*Reviews the master production schedule, establishes priorities to meet customer demand, revises schedules as necessary, and minimizes duplicate packaging machinery setups.
*Converts requisitions in the SAP MRP system into purchase orders for all raw and packaging materials required for production.
Issues production schedules to packaging supervision.
*Utilizes all available SAP tools and best practices to optimize the scheduling process.
*Supervises the raw and packaging material clerk.
*Serves as the plant super user for all raw and packaging inventory, developing and maintaining best-in-class processes to achieve inventory targets and accuracy.
*Determines lead times for purchasing packaging materials and releases purchase orders to support production needs.
*Monitors work-in-process on the production floor and adjusts schedules as needed.
*Interfaces with manufacturing personnel and supervision regarding material status and production planning issues.
*Communicates with corporate planning teams and supplier contacts on production and material issues.
*Performs other duties as requested, directed, or assigned.
MINIMUM EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
2–4 years of experience
4-year post-secondary degree
Bachelor’s degree in Materials Management
PREFERRED EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor’s degree in Production Management preferred
Minimum of 3 years of experience in production scheduling or planning preferred, within a fast-paced manufacturing environment
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
*Solid analytical skills in forecasting and anticipating production needs and capabilities
*Ability to solve practical problems and adapt to changing situations
*Strong computer literacy, including Microsoft Office applications for scheduling and data management
*Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to manage conflicting interests and gain cooperation
*Excellent organizational and time-management skills; detail-oriented with strong communication abilities
*Ability to prioritize work assignments and multitask in a fast-paced environment; calm under pressure with flexibility to adapt to changing schedules
*Regularly required to sit, stand, and move about the facility
*Occasional exposure to shop elements such as noise, dust, or odors
*Position requires regular and predictable attendance
