    Shift: 2-2-3 Rotation, 6pm - 6am

    SUMMARY:

    The Production Supervisor provides leadership, development of junior leadership team, training and coordination skills to the plant operations teams. Works to develop, implement, and maintain SOPs and measures regarding routine operations, changeovers, fill weight management, cross training and new employee development. Responsible for standardizing productivity, operations processes (shift change, TPM, new employee or ongoing training), sustainability and controlling conversion costs through labor standardization and OEE monitoring/improvements.

      DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

      • Responsible for safe daily operations; providing leadership, focus and direction to the operations team to meet and exceed weekly attainment and production goals.
      • Responsible at all times for promoting a safety culture and safety awareness in all areas of the plant. Support and enforce all plant safety policies and procedures in a fair and consistent manner. Demonstrate safety ownership by wearing required PPE at all times.
      • Responsible for ensuring all employees have received the required safety, quality, productivity, and operational training.
      • Responsible for ensuring that tasks are performed according to safety, quality, and regulatory guidelines at all times.
      • Directs shift activities and processes to meet customer needs.  Responsible for collection and trend analysis of operational data to identify and drive cross functional continuous improvement utilizing Lean Methodology in areas such as OEE, waste reduction, cost savings initiatives, etc.
      • Communicates with the Operations Manager and other stakeholders regarding staffing levels, materials, machines, methods, and metrics.
      • Safely, quickly and efficiently coordinates with all stakeholders when problems arise to minimize impact to production.
      • Manages cross-training and development of staff to ensure a deep flexible workforce.
      • Ensures employee time records are captured accurately and approved in a timely manner.
      • Initiates and processes clear, consistent, fair, and factual corrective actions. Takes action immediately when corrective actions are needed.
      • Fosters positive employee relations and engagement through communications and practices.
      • Ensures continuous improvement and lean opportunities are executed and Lean Daily Management objectives are met. Assists hourly employees in finding opportunities to drive out losses and facilitate team events to carry out those actions.
      • Responsible for ensuring that all sanitation and good housekeeping procedures and guidelines are followed.
      • Audits for completion daily, weekly, and other periodic tasks that are assigned to floor personnel.
      • Provides recommendations to manager and HR Business Partner regarding disciplines & terminations.
      • Performs other related duties as required and assigned.

      EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

      • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Engineering, or related field required.
      • 2-3 years industrial or manufacturing supervisory experience required.
      • Experience in CPG industry a plus.
      • Previous supply chain, distribution or materials management experience in a fast-paced environment preferred.
      • Lean or continuous experience preferred.

      KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

      • Excellent interpersonal skills – ability to build positive relationships at all levels of the organization.
      • Excellent communications skills – ability to communicate clearly and concisely in multiple media formats– verbal, written, etc.
      • Excellent organizational/time management skills. 
      • Ability to prioritize work assignments in a fast-paced work environment, calm under pressure and flexibility to direct work force and adapt to changing schedules as appropriate.
      • Strong leadership abilities and skills as a team builder, coach and mentor.
      • Strong computer skills (SAP and MS Office Suite).
      • Strong knowledge of production operation, including equipment, materials, work flow, etc.
      • Ability to maintain absolute confidentiality at all times and in all situations.
