Job Location: Hybrid (Ewing, NJ/Home Office)
Role Summary
The Director of Sales Finance is accountable for strategic and operational financial leadership in partnership with the US Sales team to drive profitable growth. This individual serves as the primary business partner for the EVP Sales focused on driving profit-building business solutions, financial insights, while ensuring financial control and discipline within the US Consumer Domestic Sales organization. This individual oversees Trade Accountability and Governance, Customer Profitability Mobilization and Insights, and eCommerce FP&A.
Role Accountabilities and Responsibilities
Customer Profitability
Owns customer profitability system integrity, mobilization, adoption, and expansion
Leads reporting, key insights, recommendations for margin expansion across retail accounts including scorecards and KPIs.
Provides retailer profitability scenario modeling for Sales, RGM, and strategy partners
Drives adoption and change management throughout the organization.
Collaborates with Commercial team and Brand Finance for integrated customer and brand profitability forecasts
Trade Accounting and Governance
Manages the financial closing functions for all trade funds, slotting, sales-related returns, allowances, and brokerage expense.
Liaises with Revenue Growth management team to provide monthly trade forecasts
Leads compliance monitoring and reporting for deduction management of all US trade promotion deductions and remnant products.
Evaluates and reports on open liability maintenance, promotion deal maintenance, and true-ups. Monitors and evaluates accrual reserves.
Monitors, tracks, and reviews all G&A budgets for the EVP of Sales.
Manage year-end Sales Bonus process and assignment/payout that is reviewed with EVP of sales and HR Compensation.
Ecommerce Financial Analysis
Provides financial leadership/partnership with Digital Growth team for all eCommerce profitability, reporting, analytics, and insights
Develop and maintain eComm profitability metrics
Manages all eCommerce quarterly and adhoc reporting
Partners with IT and Digital Growth team for automation and enhancements
Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in Finance or Accounting required, MBA preferred
10-15 years of financial management experience in or related to the CPG industry; strong commercial background with exposure to Sales and Marketing functions.
7+ years of direct supervisor experience coaching and developing teams
Proficient in Excel PowerPoint, Syndicated Data, and Trade promotion management
Mastery of financial reporting, budgets, and forecasting
Skills and Competencies
Building effective teams/developing direct reports and others
Ability to work cross-functionally and influence senior-level management and key stakeholders
Strong decision making, problem solving, and leadership skills is a must.
