Business Development Manager - Food Service (Remote)

Role Summary                                                          

Responsible for all aspects of managing and developing strategic relationships with

Commercial & Professional Foodservice Distributor partners.

Role Accountabilities and Responsibilities                                                    

  • Achieve annual sales and profit goals
  • Manage Distributor relationships at senior levels and develop/execute new business opportunities
  • Regularly engage with Distributor Sales Reps and monitor overall performance to ensure C&D remains supplier of choice
  • Utilize end user insights to generate opportunities and close new business
  • Maintain an active pipeline to meet sales targets
  • Identify market needs and proposes new products
  • Conduct contract negotiations with customers
  • Develop and provide in person and virtual customer training sessions
  • Create and track all customer promotions
  • Maintain the C&P customer database through timely and accurate updates
  • Attend trade shows as needed
  • Travel up to 60%

Education and Experience                                                          

  • BS in Marketing or related field from an accredited academic institution. 
  • 7+ years of sales experience in the Foodservice and/or B2B Industry 
  • Must possess strong knowledge of distribution/re-distribution model

Skills and Competencies

  • Strong sales skills in value-added selling and branded products
  • Ability to balance sales and profitability
  • Experience working with a standard Customer Relationship Management program
  • Excellent selling skills in one-on-one, as well, as group settings
  • Computer literate and working knowledge of MS Office. 
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Self-motivated and takes ownership of assigned projects
  • Works well independently and as part of a team
  • Embraces change and technology
  • Negotiating skills/deal structure development
