Job Title:        Warehouse Process Improvement Analyst

Department:  Canadian Supply Chain                  

Reports To:    Warehouse Manager

Role Summary                                                          

The Process improvement role will serve as a key contributor in hands-on support to the Canadian warehouse network. This position has responsibility for overall engineered labor standards, cost-benefit analysis, and process re-engineering activities. The position will have the opportunity to work across cross-functional teams.

Role Accountabilities and Responsibilities                                                       

  • This role will be a back up to the warehouse manager.
  • Conduct time and motion studies and work measurement tasks for development of engineered labor standards, cost-benefit analysis, and process re-engineering activities.
  • Analyze results of various studies and assist in the creation of engineered labor standards.
  • Development of project proposals, presentations, and training activities as requested.
  • Provide industrial engineering expertise to cross functional teams to deliver improved Warehousing facilities and processes.
  • Create and execute the Continuous Improvement Site Strategic Plan including the drive to bronze and silver lean status.
  • Identify and champion opportunities for continuous improvement initiatives by driving and implementing productivity improvements, quality improvements and fine reductions.
  • Be the WMS super user.
  • Manage the SOP process and ensure compliance to GMP standards.
  • Work with SCM operations to create and maintain quality, delivery and cost metrics related to the warehouse operation.
  • Do root cause analysis on inventory accuracy issues with respect to the WMS.
  • Support the Quality Department standards with operational root cause analysis and Corrective and Preventative Action (CAPA) projects.
  • Review process value stream mapping and recommend staffing levels, methods, and performance metrics (measurements) to ensure an effective operation.
  • Communicate methods, changes, scheduling, etc. as appropriate and required cross-functionally throughout the organization.
  • Responsible always for promoting a safety culture and safety awareness within their area of responsibility.
  • Support and enforce all plant safety policies and procedures in a fair and consistent manner. 
  • Project manage important and critical cross functional operation projects that impact the warehouse.
  • Performs other related duties as required and assigned as oversee the daily activities ensuring all orders are shipped on time while maintaining accuracy and safety.

Education and Experience                                                          

  • 1 – 3 years business experience in continuous improvement initiatives which includes inventory accuracy and warehouse operations.
  • Bachelor’s in Industrial / Systems Engineering.
  • Strong Excel-based background, regression analysis, and data-mining techniques, proficiency with Matlab, Word, Power Point and PBi.
  • Able to work with databases and create customized crystal reports.
  • Experience and understanding of distribution center environment.
  • Experience with stat/data analysis.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to advise/present in front of senior leadership and/or large group of floors employees.
  • Understanding of technical documentation, and industrial blueprints and plans.
  • Critical thinking, problem-solving, and creativity skills.
  • Ability to determine how operations, environments, and systems interact.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks under pressure.
  • Project management experience.
  • Understanding of warehouse management systems (WMS).
  • Solid knowledge and background in warehouse and transportation operations.
  • Experience in retail logistics and consumer packaged goods is an asset.
  • Knowledge of lean/six sigma or commitment to learn.
