If yes, then look no further! We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Engineering Controls & Automation Specialist to join our team at our Folkestone Plant. This role is an exciting opportunity to leverage your expertise in a fast-paced, automated FMCG environment. What You’ll Do:
- Drive Site Performance: Utilize your skills to improve Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) and ensure the highest quality standards across the site.
- Control System Management: Oversee all control systems including Siemens, Schneider, MES, and POKA. Execute process improvements and ensure regular backups and maintenance.
- Health & Safety Compliance: Adhere to and promote all corporate, health, safety, and environmental standards including ATEX and COSHH.
- Support and Train: Assist in training staff on site control and process systems, ensuring documentation and knowledge transfer for system upgrades.
Key Responsibilities:
- Enhance controls and automation to boost performance across all areas.
- Prioritize and execute control improvements based on plant needs and production availability.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized working environment.
- Support corporate strategies and departmental targets such as TPM and LEAN.
Education & Experience:
- Essential: Extensive experience in an automated FMCG environment, working with processing and packaging machinery, and control systems (Siemens, E&H, etc.).
- Qualifications: Mechanical and electrical qualifications (City & Guilds or NVQ L3 equivalent).
- Proven experience in reactive, planned, preventative, and predictive maintenance.
- Knowledge of continuous improvement methodologies and SMED projects.
- Familiarity with COSHH regulations.
We are looking for an individual with a proactive, “can-do” attitude towards problem-solving, strong communication skills with the ability to interact at all levels and can be a team player who thrives in a collaborative environment. Detailed problem-solving skills with formal techniques like Kaizen and Lean Six Sigma (yellow or green belt preferred) are highly desirable.

This role reports to the Engineering Maintenance Manager, and works 42 hours per week, Monday to Friday.
