OBJECTIVE:

Supervise the production activities within the assigned department in order to produce a quality product at the lowest possible cost; in a timely, efficient and safety-conscious manner; assures compliance with all FDA, ISO, and OSHA regulations, company policies and/or procedures.

Shift Schedule- This is a Crew 3 (day opening) 7 AM – 7 PM with that rotating schedule (3 days one week; 4 days the next).

RESPONSIBILITIES:  

  • Request components to comply with the production schedule, assuring that these components are the correct ones and approved for use per company procedures (S.P.B.).
  • Organize and direct employees so as to maximize the utilization between employees, machinery and production schedule following company procedures (S.P.B.).
  • Prepare and submit daily and/or weekly labor and/or production reports to accounting department.
  • Prepares daily production reports, completes Lot Tracking Forms, Delivery to Hold Notices, DHNs and other Testing, Primary or Secondary production records.
  • Prepare and submit the appropriate documents to Quality Control department as per Company policy and procedures (S.P.B.).
  • Promotes good safety practices including but not limited to housekeeping.
  • Approves requisitions of indirect production supplies and assists in the budgeting of them.
  • Resolves any issues with employees such as personal days, vacations, and sick leave.
  • Supervises start-up of the various areas within the Department, as required.
  • Trains new employees; assists with interviewing production candidates; completes performance appraisals as   required.
  • Attends safety meetings and holds GMP meetings with employees.
  • Reviews production documents and confirms that they are properly completed before forwarding to Quality Control.
  •  Perform other duties as requested.

This position applies to all aspects of factory floor conversion at the Colonial Heights plant.

EDUCATION: MINIMUM REQUIREMENT

High school education or equivalent mandatory.

Four-year college degree preferred.

EXPERIENCE: MINIMUM REQUIREMENT

Manufacturing experience is essential.  A minimum 3 years of supervisory experience is preferred.  Pharmaceutical, cosmetic, or food manufacturing background as well as understanding of cGMP’s is required.

SPECIAL SKILLS:

Verbal and written communication skills a must.  A strong math background is helpful.  Works independently and within a team.  Ability to get along with and lead diverse groups of people.  Good problem solving and reasoning skills.

Use of Microsoft Office programs

Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and/or Six Sigma is a plus

This individual must be able to communicate with supervisors and peers.  Must be able to work independently.  Must be a decision maker and a problem solver.
