Position Description

Title:                                 Financial Analyst - Logistics

Reports to:                       Operations Finance Controller - Canada

Responsibilities :

Monitoring and analyzing logistics costs: This involves closely tracking and analyzing the company's expenditure on freight services, warehousing, waste, and other logistics costs. The analyst will assess the effectiveness of these costs and identify areas for potential cost savings or optimization. Budgeting and forecasting: The financial analyst will develop and maintain budgets for logistics expenses, including understanding of volume, mix and rate drivers. They will also forecast future freight costs based on historical data, monitoring market trends, and working in partnership with Supply Chain leaders to drive insights into operational drivers. Performance analysis: The analyst will evaluate the efficiency of shipping routes, inventory carrying costs, warehouse labour planning, and work with Supply Chain to develop operational KPIs to assess cost effectiveness. Financial reporting: Generate regular reports on logistics costs, trends, and variances. The analyst will prepare management reports, and dashboards to provide insights to stakeholders, management, and other departments within the company. Cost optimization and process improvement: The financial analyst will proactively work with Supply Chain to identify opportunities to reduce costs through carrier selection, route-network optimization, and/or process improvements. Accounting: The Financial analyst will be responsible for the Month End journal entries and reporting pertaining to Canada Freight. Working in partnership with Accounting team on freight invoice validation and processing. Collaboration and communication: The financial analyst will collaborate with various stakeholders, such as logistics, and finance teams, to gather relevant data and ensure accurate financial analysis. Effective communication skills are necessary to present findings, recommendations, and cost-saving initiatives to management.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in business administration.

• 1-3 years of financial analysis experience.

• Strong demonstrated analytical skills.

• Advanced Excel skills.

• Ability to produce high-quality materials within tight deadlines and short notice requests.

• Proven ability to prioritize and effectively manage different timelines.

• Great attention to detail.

• Excellent interpersonal skills.

• Ability to work in à cross-functional team environment.
