We currently have an excellent opportunity for a Scientist I (Associate Chemist) located at our Princeton, NJ location.

The candidate for this position will support the Sexual Health Product Development team through stages of the product development process including but not limited to prototype development, performance testing, consumer testing, scale-up, and specifications. The individual collaborates and works in a cross-functional team environment. This individual may also support small programs under close supervision from senior group members. The Scientist I (Associate Chemist) will be under the supervision of an R&D Manager in a manner consistent with the C&D R&D Core Principles of teamwork, consumer and customer focus, personal responsibility and integrity, and ethical behavior and practices.

Responsibilities:

  • Execute laboratory experiments and help design experiments related to product improvements or new product formulations.  Conduct formula evaluation and stability testing.  Collect and analyze data.  Report results and suggest next steps.
  • Prepare and maintain chemical inventory within the lab.
  • Prepare products and relevant documentation for consumer/clinical studies
  • Coordinate and support testing by internal service groups and/or external testing labs.
  • Conduct periodic market surveillance on competitive products and stay abreast on category trends.
  • Prepare project protocols and reports, specification development, and procedure development.
  • Prepare, assemble, and maintain Documents related to Design History Files, Technical Files, Bundle books, and other supporting documents for new product launch. Lead product release meetings as needed.
  • Represent product development as needed on cross functional team calls to aid in day to day management for the brands.
  • Interact on project teams within R&D (Consumer Experience, Safety, Processing, Packaging, Regulatory, Quality Assurance) and with outside suppliers and vendors.
  • Assist in other duties as assigned to support the development team with brand maintenance or new product launches.

 

Education and Experience:

The successful candidate will have a B.S. degree from an accredited institution in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Chemical Engineering, Life Sciences, or related disciplines, with 0-2 years of laboratory experience.  An internship or Co-Op experience is preferred but not required.

Skills and Competencies:

  • Ability to work on specified tasks with manager supervision.
  • Ability to support multiple, concurrent projects with manager supervision. 
  • Demonstrated organizational, work planning, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work with supervisor direction in a cross-functional environment involving marketing, processing, packaging, analytical, safety and clinical regulatory, etc.
  • Good oral and written skills
  • Computer proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Flexibility to be able to quickly adjust to meet project needs and business priorities.
