Senior Process Engineer

Position Specification

The Senior Process Engineer at CHD Asia R&D will play a crucial role in supporting process-related work in the personal care, home care, and health care categories. This position involves technical transfer to CMs and troubleshooting process-related issues. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in process engineering and will contribute to the successful development and production of various consumer products.

This position is based in Guangzhou, China. International and domestic travel may be required to support project needs and collaborate with other teams or manufacturing sites.

Role Accountabilities and Responsibilities 

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth technical transfer of products to contract manufacturers (CM). Troubleshoot and resolve process-related issues during product development and production. Conduct process optimization studies to improve product quality, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness. Develop and maintain process documentation, including standard operating procedures (SOPs), work instructions, and process flow diagrams. Work closely with R&D, Quality Assurance, and Supply Chain teams to ensure the successful scale-up and commercialization of new products. Provide technical support to manufacturing sites, including process monitoring, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement initiatives. Stay updated with industry trends and advancements in process engineering techniques to identify opportunities for innovation and improvement.

Education and Experience                                                           

The successful candidate should have a Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 7 years of experience or Master's degree with a minimum of 5 years of experience in FMCG industry. Knowledge of body wash, toothpaste, mouthwash, laundry detergent, liquid sanitizer, aerosol, gummy and deodorant will be a plus.

The candidate should have a minimum of a BS degree in Process Engineering, Chemistry Engineering, Food Engineering, or related majors. 

The candidate’s experience must clearly demonstrate background in the following areas:

  • Strong knowledge and experience in process engineering principles and methodologies.
  • Experience in process development for new product launches and tech transfer
  • Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and resolve process-related issues.
  • Experience in personal care, home care, or health care industries is preferred.
  • Understanding and experience in working with external partners such as suppliers and co-manufacturers.
  • Developed skills in project management, multi-task management and experienced, cross-functional interactions.
  • SAP, computer skill and preferable with the experience in multi-national company
