General Summary:
Tends automatic baler machine that bales packaging material such as cardboard and plastic bottles. Aids in the performance and workflow of the production line by removing waste product from the line.
Essential Responsibilities:
Operates old and new baler machines. Rewire and reset spools of wire onto new baler. Fills hopper of new baler with cardboard/plastic bottles; clears equipment jams Utilizes computer interface panels to operate the equipment Performs all the daily basic safety checks; responsible for maintaining good housekeeping practice (swept and organized) of the work area. Adheres to the requirements of the SOP’s, GMP’s and JSA’s Wears appropriate Personal Protective Equipment and adheres to all safety procedures as documented in the Job Safety Analysis (JSA) Reports safety hazards, quality and production issues to supervision immediately Responsible for making rounds to the packaging line throughout the shift to remove cardboard and other waste material Complies with all Church & Dwight Co. Inc. policies and procedures Participates in all job related safety training and personally complies with all safety policies and procedures. Will receive general orientation, job specific, and refresher training relative to the hazardous chemicals they may handle in the course of performing their jobs. Will comply with all NJ laws and company policies /procedures while sampling, unloading, pre-weighing, transferring, and/or handling hazardous chemicals.
Non-Essential Responsibilities:
Perform other duties as assigned Cross-trains, as may be required.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Able to communicate, write and read English Demonstrate ability to interact with employees at all levels; take and follow directions Ability to stand, continuously, for long periods of time; withstand working in very hot and cold conditions; lift up to 50lbs. Must have basic math skills and computer skills and demonstrate attention to detail Forklift and pallet jack experience; prior certification a plus Maintains a good safety record.
Education and Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
Experience working in a packaging or manufacturing environment is preferred.
