THE COMPANY:

Church & Dwight Canada is a Consumer-Packaged Goods company with over 30 leading brands in the Household, OTC, Personal Care and Sexual Health categories. Most of its brands occupy a #1 or #2 share position.

Its signature brand is the Arm & Hammer family of products that includes Baking Soda, Laundry Detergent, Dental Care, Cat Litter, Carpet Deodorizers and more.

Other well established, high performing Church & Dwight brands include OxiClean, Orajel, First Response, Trojan, Batiste, Nair, Gravol, Rub A535, L’il Critters and Vitafusion.

Over last few years the company bolstered its brand roster with the acquisitions of the Viviscal Hair Growth System, Toppik Hair Building Fibers, Anusol Hemorrhoid Treatments, Waterpik Water Flossers & Showerheads, Flawless Hair Removers, and most recently Thereabreath Mouth Rinses and Hero Cosmetics.

THE POSITION:

Marketing Manager, Oral Care (full time, home/office hybrid schedule)
 

In this role you will be leading C&D Oral Care portfolio of brands:

  • Waterpik: company’s top growth priority, with a diverse brand portfolio in Water Flossers and Shower Heads.
  • Therabreath: recent C&D acquisition in non-alcoholic Mouth Rinses, with strong potential and growth momentum.
  • Orajel: an iconic brand trusted by consumers for mouth pain relief, baby teething and more.

This is a dynamic and unique opportunity for a CPG marketing professional who has experience in leading well-known brands and developing consumer, retail, and health care professional plans in a fast-growing category.

Your CPG background, sound strategic thinking, and leadership skills, in combination with a mindset of entrepreneurial business owner will help you develop and execute winning strategies while leveraging US and international successes and key learnings.

The successful candidate will lead cross-functional teams, working closely with internal counterparts such as Business Integration, Quality & Regulatory Affairs, R&D, Customer Strategic Planning, Finance, Supply Chain and International Marketing.

You will also work closely with our integrated agency partners on the brand’s Creative, Media, Shopper Marketing, PR, and Health Care Professionals activities.

This position will report to the Brand Director and has one direct report.

The successful candidate will:

  • Have hand-on experience with brand management, including strategic decision making, financial acumen and a strong desire to drive net sales and gross margin.
  • Develop and execute brand strategy across an integrated commercial plan.
  • Lead portfolio management through development and commercialization of new product pipelines, and SKUs rationalization.
  • Assess and recommend NPD and current product growth opportunities (category/competitive analysis and consumer, finance, trade, R&D, regulatory and operations validations)
  • Work with external agency partners to develop associated tactics for integrated consumer, shopper marketing, public relations and health care professional that support the brand strategy.
  • Actively seek new opportunities for the brand to grow its omnichannel footprint to align with insights from the consumer journey.
  • Work closely with Sales, Customer Strategic Planning and Shopper Marketing colleagues to drive integrated commercial plan.
  • Collaborate with International counterparts and Regulatory to drive Canadian brand strategy and marketing plans.
  • Lead new product and current product artwork development and run outs working with packaging partners through key milestones of briefing, artwork development, separations, internal supply chain, and customer facing teams to facilitate transitions.
  • Develop strategic and tactical recommendations by analyzing brand performance and program ROIs, and leading marketing research projects to close information gaps.
  • Own budget tracking, forecasting and reconciliation.
  • Acclimatize with the retail, competitive and regulatory environments to drive analytics and strategic business decisions (pricing, sizing, distribution, product development, claims development, category reviews and more)
  • Manage and develop an Assistant Marketing Manager

QUALITIES OF THE IDEAL CANDIDATE

  • Bachelor of Business and/or MBA 
  • 3-5 years minimum of experience in brand management in a CPG marketing environment
  • Self-starter with a track record of delivering results in a fast-paced environment while managing ambiguity.
  • Demonstrates followership though effective communication, collaboration, and cross-functional influence, both with an internal team and with counterparts in different markets.
  • Leads with empathy and is motivated to foster team spirit and make an impact to the organization, and can do so from a remote base of operations.
  • Entrepreneurial in nature, owner of the business with can-do attitude, who is constantly looking for ways to take the brand to the next level.
  • Strong analytical thinking and financial acumen (analyses, pricing, forecasting, etc.), and owning entire brand segments from strategy to execution.
  • Experience managing and being accountable for a P&L.
  • Able to translate data and research into meaningful insights and recommendations.
  • Proficiency Microsoft Office and ACNielsen (or similar POS analysis tools).
  • Experience in Professional Marketing is an asset.
