Position: Senior Digital Marketing Manager
Reports to: Head of Marketing & New Business Integration
Position Summary:
The Senior Digital Marketing Manager will lead the Canadian Digital vision and strategy, and support the execution of integrated Commercial Digital plans, with a focus on eCommerce/Omnichannel, owning full Consumer Journey and connected Consumer experiences, championing Digital Learning and Innovation, Direct to Consumer (D2C), and Insights/Analytics. This position will also be responsible for developing Corporate-wide digital strategies, consulting regularly with Brand teams on best practices and emerging trends, leading new digital program launches, and reporting on performance metrics. The position understands many emerging digital platforms, as well as, the foundational elements of integrating off/online communications and shopper activations across our full Brand portfolio.
Role Accountabilities and Accountabilities:
- eCommerce = 65% of time; Digital Brand Marketing = 35% of time
- Lead vision and support execution of our ePortfolio Strategy and Brand Prioritization on eComm
- Responsible for growing and managing CHD’s eCommerce presence in partnership with Sales. This includes leading search and other media targeting levers, promotions, new product development, advertising, content, analytics, P&L management, and exploration of retail test and learns/innovation
- Lead thinking and influence on Connected Consumer Journeys and support activation with Brand teams
- Create eRetail/D2C go-to-market strategies and manage activations, leading the end-to-end process of product sales and promotion
- Lead strategy development for website optimization, social marketing, and content creation
- Bring strong expertise to the organization on trends in eCommerce, social marketing, Digital Personalization, and where they overlap
- Partner with the Business Analytics team and oversee Analytics engagements meant to identify the needs and quantify the value of digital consumers (i.e. branding studies, conversion attribution, competitive reviews, etc.)
- Build relationships with Brand Directors and Marketing Managers in order to best understand business objectives and challenges and to help direct planning outcomes
- Act as a Digital liaison between the Brand and CHD’s agencies in order to help direct project goals and objectives
- Champion continuous Digital learning and upskilling for the Marketing team, and support cross-functional departments where applicable
- Build relationships with IT to drive cross-departmental projects forward and with the Global Digital team to help consult and govern new projects
- Manages 2 Direct Reports
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor of Business and/or MBA required
- 7-10 years of digital marketing experience with a successful track record of defining and driving key metrics.
- Proven ability to develop people and teams with a view to improving employee engagement
- Demonstrated ability to generate big ideas and lead complex, strategic projects through to commercialization; possess powerful analytical skills to quickly identify risks and opportunities
- Digital Experience: eComm fundamentals, Web analytics, Search Engine Marketing (SEM) principles, understanding of paid search principles and measurement, understanding of organic search algorithms and variables that drive ranking, promotional know-how including digital coupons and other incentives to drive trial and subscription, understanding of the role auto-replenishment plays in the shopping journey, knowledge of Amazon’s ecosystem (Amazon.ca, video, web services, voice) and Amazon Retail Analytics
- Innovation experience, new product launches, and/or major repositioning of a brand
- Microsoft Office suite (PowerPoint, Excel); PowerBI and Stackline knowledge would be an asset
Skills and Competencies:
- Sound strategic thinking, detailed analytical, and strong digital acumen required to develop and execute an aggressive commercial digital plan for the long-term growth of CHD’s portfolio
- Strong leadership and strategic influencing skills with a proven ability to gain alignment with many stakeholders, especially on where to invest “their” money and how to measure
- True entrepreneurial spirit and resourceful self-starter with a proven ability to thrive in ambiguous environments
- Can-do positive attitude, results-driven, curious. Motivated to foster team spirit and make an impact to the organization.
- Ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional partners and to influence senior leadership across functions
- Passion for retail trends and technology’s impact on shopping behavior
- Demonstrated agility, especially under pressure
- Attention to detail with strong organization, multi-tasking, and prioritization skills
- Outstanding communication and analysis/reporting skills
- Vendor and agency management
