Operations Supervisor - Afternoon Shift

THE POSITION:

Reporting to the Warehouse Manager, the Operations Supervisor is responsible for all aspects of Operations. The Operations Supervisor will oversee the daily activities ensuring all orders are shipped on time while maintaining accuracy and safety.

This role is for the afternoon shift.

THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE WILL LEAD:

Operational process improvement and productivity:

Supervise warehouse personnel and activities to optimize productivity.

Identify, develop, and implement operational best practices & process improvement

Meet productivity targets and work to reduce errors.

Develop KPIs to ensure picking accuracy and reduce damages.

Hold regular meetings with personnel to reinforce SOPs and Safety issues

Identify priorities and react

Ensure customer orders are shipped on time

Daily timekeeping

Health and Safety:

Ensure safety rules are communicated and followed

Ensure SOP training and required Safety training are completed on time and records kept

Inventory Management

Ensure Inventory Control

Coordinate annual physical inventory count if Necessary

Ensure Daily counts and counts back are conducted on a consistent basis

Assist with various Quality Control functions

Leadership:

Provide training to workers

Identify and address performance issues when required

Education/Training

Grade 12 Diploma and Post-secondary education

2-5 years’ experience in Supervision

 Inventory Control

Experienced with WMS (ideally SWISSLOG) and SAP

CHEP Pallet Control

Forklift certification

Health and Safety / WHMIS/ TDG

Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, and Outlook)

Experience with Web-based programs (CHEP Portfolio, SPS commerce)

Experience working with or at C&D major customers such as Wal-Mart (SCM), SDM (Matrix), or National Grocers.

Extensive experience in warehousing, distribution, and inventory control

Good verbal and written communication skills (fluent in English)

Flexible, ability to work long hours and weekends on short notice
