Role Summary
The Laboratory Technician works under limited supervision of more experienced technical personnel. Basic skills in science, math, and computers are necessary. Able to make observations, clearly communicate with supervisor, independently solve straightforward problems, and draw basic conclusions. Able to do limited independent research of basic principles.
Role Accountabilities and Responsibilities (Describe the 5-7 major accountabilities)
- Report results in a clear and concise manner as defined by supervisor
- Meticulously document data in laboratory notebook and written reports
- Follow established test methods, SOPs, and safe lab practices and troubleshoot/make suggestions when necessary.
- Make conclusions and suggestions for next steps, including identifying any discrepancies in data.
- Appropriately prioritize workload based on input for supervisor.
- Collaborate on testing scope and execute agreed package testing (on-site).
- Report results in clear and concise manner.
- Follow established test methods, SOP’s, and safe lab practices.
- Material Preparation/Labeling and Disposition (must be able to handle up to 50lbs).
Education and Experience
HS Diploma w/ 2+ years in lab environment, Relevant AAS or BS in Physics/Mechanics/Packaging
