Role Summary
Sr. IT Quality Engineer responsibility is to ensure that software applications, systems, and processes meet high-quality standards and are delivered to end-users with minimal defects or issues. They play a vital role in maintaining the overall quality and reliability of IT systems, ensuring the smooth operation and user satisfaction.
Essential Job Functions:
- Follows the current quality and regulatory process and continuously identify and provide recommendations and promote a culture of quality within the organization.
- Analyzes functional requirements to develop test strategies and plans for a given IT solution delivery project.
- Collaborates with cross-functional teams, including developers, business analysts, and project managers, to establish quality standards and ensure compliance with industry best practices and regulatory requirements (FDA).
- Creates test plans, test cases, and test scripts to thoroughly evaluate software applications. Conducts functional, integration, performance, and regression testing to identify bugs, defects, and vulnerabilities. Analyze test results, build traceability matrix, document issues, and work with the development team to resolve them.
- Provides support to project planning and project status reporting efforts in relationship to testing needs and testing activities; communicates results to the key stakeholders.
- As part of continuous improvement efforts, leverage automation tools and frameworks to streamline the testing process. Develop and maintain automated test scripts, execute automated tests, and monitor test results.
- Prepare comprehensive test reports that highlight key findings, metrics, and recommendations for improvement. Communicate test progress, quality metrics, and any potential risks or issues to stakeholders, ensuring transparency and informed decision-making.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and best practices related to software quality and testing. Stay updated on the latest trends, technologies, and advancements in the field of quality assurance and incorporate them into the organization's processes.
- Quality mindset: A strong commitment to quality and customer satisfaction. Keen attention to detail and a proactive approach to ensure the delivery of high-quality IT systems and software applications.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field.
- Relevant certifications in quality assurance, testing, or software development are a plus.
- 8+ years’ experience in testing enterprise-class IT solutions
- Experience using project and test management tools like Azure DevOps (work item tracking, source code, versions, branching) or similar
- Experience in test automation using tools like Selenium, AVO Assure
- Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Java, Python and C#), and frameworks for automation
- Solid understanding of GxP guidance, including 21 CFR Part 11, Annex 11 and data integrity experience with system validation across GxP landscape, specifically GMP applications
Skills and Competencies
- Strong knowledge of quality assurance methodologies, processes, and tools
- Self-motivated with exceptional analytical and critical thinking skills
- Ability to perform high degree of initiative with a passion for learning technology
- Ability to work collaboratively with IT Team
- Strong verbal and written communications skills
- Understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC) and agile methodologies
- Effective organization and prioritization skills
- Knowledge in the platforms like SAP, Salesforce, Service Now, and any Warehouse Management Systems is preferred
- In-depth knowledge of implementing the following capabilities: Automaton Testing, Load/Performance Testing, Cross Browser Testing, Mobile Testing and API Testing
- CI/CD Experience is preferred
- Familiarity working with SQL and Oracle databases
