The Senior Sales Director for Walmart is responsible for leading a direct selling organization to deliver accelerated revenue, improved profitability, and operational cost objectives versus the balance of the market. The role is responsible for establishing and maintaining Cross Functional Alignment between Church & Dwight and the Retailer Team to include Marketing, Omni-Channel, Replenishment and Supply Chain. The Senior Director is accountable for the development and execution of Joint Business Planning with the Retailer across all Go-To-Market functions within Church & Dwight, the Senior Director will serve as the Retailer expert within the company and therefore, responsible for providing consistent communication, proactively informing the organization about any new and/or potential changes in Retailer requirements, and routinely sharing key Business Metric Scorecards.  Working with Key Commercial Team Leaders, the Sr. Director will provide on-going fact-based insights about our Products, Categories and Shoppers, and make recommendations to further drive alignment with Brand and Channel Strategies. The Sr. Director will be responsible for developing and leading multiple direct reports.

*This is a hybrid role with flexibility to work remotely and in the Church & Dwight corporate office in Rogers, Arkansas*

Role Accountabilities and Responsibilities                                                     

  • Deliver annual sales, trade-spending, cost to serve and profit goals
  • Provide leadership, direction and support to Functional Resources to deliver revenue and profit objectives
  • Execution of DSMP’s and the development of proposals which minimize market conflict
  • Creates new business building concepts that increase customer value
  • Responsible for financial proposals which demonstrate minimize channel conflict
  • Influences customer’s strategic direction at the highest levels across critical customer departments
  • Drives personal business building relationships with key customer leaders across functions
  • Facilitates customer meetings to delivery corporate functional expertise
  • Maximizes Enterprise to Enterprise connections
  • Responsible for overall financial management (Thor, Trade Spend, Deductions, SRAs, SG&A)
  • Collaboration with Commercial Strategy and Innovation to deliver an annual plan meeting the customer needs
  • Accountable to ensure the customers’ requirements are identified across functions as an input to the Channel Strategy Development process.
  • Annual assessment of organizational talent, and development of High Potential Associates.
  • Ongoing collaboration with Church & Dwight functional leaders to jointly manage team resources and to establish required business direction     
  • 10% travel required      

Education and Experience                                                          

  • Bachelor’s Degree required
  • 10+ years of experience within CPG industry (Territory Manager, Sales Planning, Field Sales and or Category Management) required
  • 2+ year’s management/people leadership experience required
  • 3rd Party Service Providers experience
  • Proficient in Excel, PowerPoint, Syndicated Data, Trade Promotion Management
  • Understanding of business financials and experience presenting to Executive leadership within their own company and at top retailers.
