Position: Team Lead, Business Analytics

Reports to:  Head of Commercial Operations

Overview:

The Team Lead, Business Analytics is responsible for working with cross-functional teams at all levels to advance the company’s capabilities by converting business needs into IT-based solution requirements and ensuring the designed solution meets those requirements. This work spans sales, marketing and commercial operations and impacts our ecommerce and bricks and mortar business.

To start, this role requires defining the data strategy & infrastructure, resources required and prioritization process to deliver against our analytical objectives for Canada. The ongoing responsibilities of this role include partnering with senior stakeholders, understanding and validating detailed commercial data needs, converting those needs into IT-based solution requirements, leading the functional design and/or configuration of the solution, proposing business process changes, testing that the solution meets the defined requirements, and providing advanced level support and assistance to help ensure fixes and enhancements are addressed and to ensure the adoption and effective use of the solution.

This role will work closely with our US IT analytics organization to ensure proper resourcing and prioritization from internal and external analytics partners as well as across the Canadian organization. This role will lead employee education on analytics tools and is deeply involved in improving the maturity of analysis standards, processes and practices. This role is expected to have direct reports within one year. This role will also engage with the international Church and Dwight analytics community to identify best practices which could be reapplied for Canada.

The Team Lead, Business Analytics will be responsible to:

  • Develop and own the Canadian commercial data strategy and infrastructure set-up/ongoing optimizations as requirements evolve
  • Leads and manages the business identification, selection and business case preparation for new tools or resources required to continue to advance the delivery of advanced analytics, visualization, reporting, scorecard, and data usage
  • Partners with senior stakeholders across commercial functions (sales, marketing, finance, supply chain, Ecomm) to define business needs, prioritize analytical projects and defines solution requirements
  • Negotiates needs and expectations of multiple stakeholders in defining a cohesive set of solution requirements
  • Analyzes, models, and evaluates current commercial processes, workflows, user flows, and data to propose improved business processes to meet requirements
  • Ensures projects are properly resourced and prioritized in Canada and with US internal and external analytics partners, especially with the IT organization and Exec team
  • Participates in the evaluation of potential solutions in terms of its viability in meeting the requirements
  • Leads as the primary liaison for test planning and use case development activities to ensure that the solution meets the business requirements and that new functionality from enhancements do not adversely affect existing functionality
  • Provides advanced solution support, as needed, (e.g., triaging issues, training, demonstrations, support calls), applying deep expertise in the functional area and technology to help ensure effective use of the solution
  • Leads new tool integration into the Canadian business and develops documentation (e.g., user documentation, training materials, SOPs, etc.) and assists in maintaining this documentation as changes are made to the solution

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution in Business Administration, Information Systems, Data Science, Computer Science or related discipline
  • 6+ years’ experience in business-facing solution delivery roles
  • Experience in business process analysis/design
  • Experience with leading teams, influencing, change management and people management
  • Proficient with Power BI
