If the answer is yes - then look no further. Church & Dwight UK Ltd have an exciting opportunity for a permanent Waste Co-ordinator to join our team based at our Manufacturing site in Folkestone, Kent.
The Waste Co-ordinator is responsible for the day to day administration and liaison of all waste aspects within Church & Dwight’s UK sites based in Folkestone, Kent. They are responsible for ensuring records are maintained and that the site operations are complaint to legislation. The Waste Coordinator is expected to drive improvements in the site that increase recycling rates, reduce waste generation, reduce costs and reduce Lean Wastes.
Regular duties include:
Ensuring that weekly waste collections are completed and compliant
Ensuring correct labelling of waste across the sites
Liaising with our Waste Company weekly
Raising Purchase Orders for waste collection
Reporting to site leadership team on monthly metrics and improvement activities
Liaising with our US sustainability team, and reporting metrics
Key responsibilities include:
To be responsible for all aspects of Waste Administration including sign off on invoices and waste, & recycling reporting.
Managing waste across all sites
Liaising with waste suppliers to ensure costs and revenue are optimised
Working with the factory team to identify innovative solutions to make waste easier to handle, and reduce quantities
The ideal candidate will have experience of waste management within a manufacturing/FMCG organisation. In addition:
Experience of managing projects would be an advantage.
Experience of working within the FMCG sector is preferable.
Experience working in waste management and improvement is desirable, but not essential
Excellent interpersonal and influencing skills
Effective communicator at all levels. Good presentation skills and ability to conduct effective meetings and presentations with large teams.
Bias for action, with a professional and positive approach - a can do attitude with a willingness to go the extra mile when required
Dynamic, self-motivated and self sufficient
Ability to cope with pressure, assertive and adaptable
Able to self-manage, by understanding the goal and identifying actions to achieve
