Are you an experienced Prince 2/PMP trained Senior Project Manager? Do you have experience leading a cross functional project team in a fast-paced environment?

If the answer is yes - then look no further. Church & Dwight UK Ltd have a vacancy for Senior Project Manager based at our UK head office in Folkestone, Kent, with 50% of the time working from home.

You may not be familiar with our company name, but you will be familiar with our range of household brands that cover healthcare, haircare and personal care categories. These include Batiste dry shampoo, Arm & Hammer toothpaste and Femfresh intimate wash and many more!

Our Project Management team focus on ensuring that New Product Development is efficiently delivered on time, in full and on cost. The Senior Project Manager will ensure the professionally project management of new product launches and product changes for a portfolio of projects determined via a Stage Gate process. Leading cross functional teams in Europe and other international Church & Dwight organisations, you will be responsible for overseeing multiple projects from initial feasibility through to launch implementation. Along with this you will have direct reports and be responsible for their growth and development.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Overall responsibility for driving project “on time, in full and on cost” delivery. Overall project leadership for a portfolio of projects across several brands, working to a Stage Gate process.  

  • Facilitate the definition of project goals, objectives, scope, milestones and deliverables.

  • Ensuring full feasibility analyses (technical and commercial assessment) are conducted to include all aspects of the project (not just cost). Define project tasks and resource requirements with the project team and resource management.

  • Develop the full-scale project schedule and manage the project against that schedule.

  • Ensure project risks are assessed, managed and mitigated as part of the project plan. 

  • Review risks and changes in risk status as part of routine progress reporting.

  • Project progress reporting both in written reports and presentations at all levels within the organisation – both in Europe and internationally.

  • Change management & change control including the escalation of change issues that impact on the project fundamentals of time, cost, quality and scope.

  • Coordinate creation of Master Data to ensure that new products are set-up, live and costed on the SAP system on time.  For in-house produced products, responsibility for seeing that Bills of Material are created, approved and loaded in a timely manner.

  • Manage smooth transition from project to first production and ongoing production; release meetings, including Quality department, to be held for all NPD projects.

  • Post Project evaluation, assessment and communication of results

  • Deputising for Head of PMO where required, in Exec meetings, status update calls etc.

The ideal candidate will have excellent demonstrable project management experience within a similar industry (ideally FMCG or Manufacturing) and be Prince 2 or PMP qualified (or equivalent). In addition, they will:

  • Have proven experience in managing innovation and new product development projects, particularly within the FMCG sector, to achieve successful project outcomes

    • Ability to manage complex cross functional projects

    • Experience in managing and mitigating risk.

    • Knowledge of MDR (Medical Device Regulation) is a significant advantage.

  • Be digitally savvy, with MS Project experience essential.

  • Have excellent interpersonal and influencing skills

  • Be an effective communicator at all levels, with good presentation skills and the ability to conduct effective meetings and presentations with large teams.

  • Have solid organisational skills including attention to detail and multi-tasking skills

  • Have a bias for action, with a professional and positive approach - a can do attitude with a willingness to go the extra mile when required

  • Be dynamic, self-motivated and self sufficient

  • Have the ability to cope with pressure, assertive and adaptable

  • Be a critical and strategic thinker – always looking for opportunities to improve.
