Role Summary
Provide technical expertise and perform experimentation in engineering and product development Value Engineering projects that become G2G (Good to Great) initiatives and document the development activities according to corporate strategy.
Role Accountabilities and Responsibilities (Describe the 5-7 major accountabilities)
- Support the formula analysis for raw materials to find alternative materials
- Coordinate and support testing by internal service groups and/or external testing labs.
- Assist in product performance, safety and consumer testing on G2G or supplier reliability projects
- Collect and help analyze competitive products, understand consumer needs and the gaps between needs and existing products, prepare a summary report and initiate/conduct follow-through tasks for a project to become G2G.
- Adhere and follow the established SOP and policies. Provide guidance when needed regarding product documentation maintenance for Design History Files and electronic databases.
- Implement ECR for the execution of a project when it reaches technical approval
- Lead R&D development efforts on projects of growing complexity and bring together cross-functional expertise based on project needs.
Education and Experience
The successful candidate will have a B.S. degree from an accredited institution in Materials Science or Mechanical Engineering or related disciplines, with 0-2 years of laboratory experience. A product development, an internship or Co-Op experience is preferred but not required. An Associate Degree with 5+ years relevant work experience is acceptable.
