Role Summary                                                          

Responsible for providing technical support for all facility related systems including but limited to electrical, HVAC, plumbing, steam generation equipment, compressed air systems, and deionized water production equipment.  Write and implement maintenance procedures and work instructions. Coordinate the disposal of Waste that is regulated by the State of Colorado and Federal Agencies.

Preform maintenance activities and repairs that include keeping spaces, structures and infrastructure in proper operating condition in a routine, scheduled, or anticipated fashion to prevent failure and/or degradation. Repair and maintain all production equipment at the FTC facility.

Role Accountabilities and Responsibilities                                                    

  • Perform all job responsibilities in a safe manner.
  • Maintain, calibrate, operate and repair heating, air conditioning, refrigeration systems, process cooling systems and associated production equipment like compression molding and Injection molding machines.
  • Provide technical and hands-on support to production Machine Maintenance, modifications, and new machine startup, and when other situations warrant needed resources.
  • Improve and modify existing equipment and systems, in a continuous effort, through effective use of materials and equipment to improve productivity and efficiency.
  • Use the current Preventive Maintenance (PM) system to provide implementation of continuous improvement.  Write and implement new PM procedures and work instructions.
  • Prioritize workload and communicate priorities to appropriate personnel.   Use time and equipment wisely in an effort to promote the most effective use of resources.  At all times, work in a professional manner.
  • Furnish appropriate and specialized hand tools. Help maintain parts inventory and order items as needed to support production and facilities.
  • Responsible for following quality system procedures.  Assists in procedure development when required.  Ensures product quality and takes appropriate action when non-conformances are identified.  Keeps accurate records as required.
  • Participate on appropriate teams.  Take an active part in the performance review process.
  • Conduct all activities in a fair, ethical manner which is in compliance with all corporate policies.
  • Responsible for coordinating the disposal of Regulated Waste including Hazardous and Non-Hazardous as determined by Local, State, and Federal Agencies.
  • Help with collecting and implementing Corporate yearly safety updates and SDS files.
  • Perform grounds maintenance to keep landscape healthy, clean, safe and attractive.  Including irrigation repairs.
  • Maintain company vehicle.
  • Address and fulfill requests of multiple tenants that lease from Company.
  • Responsible for performing multiple facility inspections to provide a safe and efficient work environment.
  • To provide an ergonomic and productive work environment, furniture and work surface modifications are a required responsibility.
  • Maintain company security practices. Some responsibilities include: Making badges, Issuing and maintaining the secure key database, retrieving data from security camera systems, and issue parking violations.
  • Keep records of effluent from production processes required by City of FTC wastewater monitoring department.
  • Manage SDS online system for the company which includes all Water Pik products.
  • Maintain and oversee installing of electrical services, pneumatic services, and water lines in the facility for various uses including production lines.
  • Supervise the activities of many contractors that are utilized by the company.
  • Order various production supplies as requested by Production manager and/or leads.

Operating Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities                                                       

  • Perform tasks in association with a variety of specialist trades involved in the maintenance or new installation of electrical, pneumatic, and mechanical systems including problem solving, utilizing special test equipment.
  • Able to use CMMS system effectively.
  • Able to read blueprints, electrical and pneumatic logic control schematics.  Accurately follow verbal and written instructions.  Able to communicate at all levels in a professional manner.
  • Possess high-skill level in troubleshooting and problem solving in the area of facilities process, structural and environmental support systems.

Education and Experience Requirements                                                          

  • Minimum of 7 years of on the job practical experience in a manufacturing environment 
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Valid Driver's License
  • Additional vocational or technical training in facility related equipment and systems troubleshooting including electricity, electronics and pneumatics      

Preferred Skills  

  • HVAC and /or Electrical experience
  • Journeyman or extensive knowledge in one or all of the following building trades is desirable:  Plumbing/Pipefitting, HVAC, or Electrical.
  • Refrigeration Repair License, issued by the State of Colorado
  • State of Colorado Regulated Waste Disposal Training
  • Knowledge and implementation of National Electric Code

                                                  

Reporting Relationship:  Directly reports to the Department Manager

Supervisory Duties:   Self-directed.  Must perform scheduling with production personnel as to not disrupt production.
