Quality Engineer - Days

Monday - Friday TBD between 7:00am - 5:00pm

The annual salary for this position is $74,800 to $116,900.

Sign On Bonus - $2,000

This highly visible position is located at our Vancouver, WA Facility.

What you’ll do:

This position will be responsible for performing and documenting quality investigations resulting from Out of Specification results (OOS), deviations, Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA), product complaints, process improvements, new products, or other events requiring investigation and/or analysis.

Essential Functions:

  • Follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), company policies, safety policies and practices, quality standards, and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
  • Responsible at all times for ensuring that tasks are performed according to food safety, quality, and regulatory guidelines. 
  • Prepare material reviews to document deviations and other quality incidents and perform corresponding investigations.
  • Perform and document investigations resulting from product complaints, CAPAs, and OOS results.
  • Perform root cause analysis and assign CAPAs for quality incidents in Manufacturing, Blend, and Packaging.
  • Work with other employees within the organization to ensure corrective and preventive actions are implemented and incorporated.
  • Support other compliance functions within the department as needed (Quality Assurance (QA), Quality Control (QC), or Laboratory).
  • Perform other duties as assigned.       

What you’ll need:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (mechanical, industrial, or other) and experience identifying, investigating, documenting, and helping to resolve quality issues is required.
  • Lean Six Sigma Black Belt certification and previous experience within the food or dietary supplement industry related to the duties and responsibilities specified, including Quality, Lab, and/or Regulatory is preferred.
  • Thorough understanding of Corrective Action/Preventive Action methods.
  • Excellent data acquisition and documentation skills (experience with MiniTab preferred).
  • High level of professionalism to work with and gather information from other departments within the organization.
  • Project management and organization skills to manage multiple projects at once.
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Ability to maintain punctuality and predictable attendance.
  • Ability to wear appropriate personal protective equipment and clean room attire when applicable; work in a standard office setting and to use standard office equipment; maintain attention to detail despite interruptions; lift and carry up to 25 pounds; and perform work onsite in a typical interior/office environment or a light industrial environment, including some exposure to non-toxic dust with no or very limited exposure to physical risk.
