If the answer is yes - then look no further as Church & Dwight UK Ltd have an exciting opportunity for a driven Buyer or Senior Buyer to join our exclusive team! This role is on a permanent basis and is located at our UK head office in Folkestone, Kent, with some days working from home.
We are one of the UK’s leading manufacturers of personal care products including Batiste dry shampoo, Femfresh intimate wash and Arm & Hammer toothpaste amongst others.
This is a key role within our European Procurement team, who are responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and contracting for specified spend categories on behalf of user departments and to develop effective business partnerships with suppliers and internal customers.
Key duties include:
Supplier management including developing supplier relationships, performance measurement, negotiation, contract management and working closely with line manager to develop category/commodity strategies.
Representing procurement on internal projects – EPD/NPD, managing cost and timescales for projects by working closely with external and internal stakeholders to meet project needs.
Cost management using SAP to maintain supplier prices and to resolve/analyse price variances.
The ideal candidate will have:
At least 2 years in a similar role, ideally within a pharma or personal care/FMCG environment.
Significant procurement experience with a track record of delivering YOY cost improvements.
A strong understanding of end-to-end supply chain, including manufacturing processes and packaging technologies.
Be qualified at degree level (or equivalent) and ideally be CIPS Qualified.
Experience of SAP (or other MRP systems) and all Microsoft Office applications (mainly Excel).
Confident, with excellent communication and organisational skills and ability to work closely within a team and under own direction.
Enthusiastic, excellent eye for detail and self-motivated.
Strong problem resolution skills.
This role will also include travel within the UK and Europe of around 10-15%.
This role will also be considered at a Buyer level for the right individual with the opportunity to develop into a Senior buyer role following training.
