Department:            SPD – Animal and Food Production

Reports to:               International Registrations Support Scientist

Role Summary                                                           

Supports process and provides all required technical information and documentation for international registration of Arm & Hammer Animal and Food Production products.  Facilitates studies to support requirements for registration.  Studies and understands regulatory requirements while compiling and executing all required technical information for registration dossiers.

Role Accountabilities and Responsibilities                                                        

  • Generate technical data for registration dossiers (40%)
    • Facilitate the completion of compatibility studies (other probiotics, antibiotics, NARMS) internally.
    • Create summaries of efficacy studies for dossiers.
    • Aid in the design of efficacy studies to ensure data is relevant for registrations.
    • Submit samples to external labs for analytical testing as needed (heavy metals, bacterial counts, etc.).
    • Coordinate and execute stability studies for new strains (concentrate, premix, pellet, heat stability) with external labs.
    • Generate technical reports for dossier submission.
  • Aid Regulatory team in generating dossiers for submission (40%)
    • Provide required support for dossier completion and submission
      • Certificates of Free Sale, Label generation, SDS, Technical Sheets, etc.
    • Gain business acumen by working across R&D, Production, QC, Sales, and Marketing
    • Assist in planning 30-60-90 / yearly plans for Regulatory team
  • Manage OUS renewals, USDA permits, OMRI Listings, etc. (20%)
    • Submit new requests
    • Manage yearly renewals
    • Support Sales team and R&D for permits and documentation required for shipping
  • General duties:
    • Maintain appropriate records
    • Provides technical support to business partners for product registrations
    • Adhere to and follow established procedures and policies for working in the laboratory designated for the development of regulated products.  Assist in maintaining laboratory compliance and equipment maintenance.
    • Maintain inter- and intradepartmental work-flow by fostering a spirit of cooperation.

Education and Experience                                                          

  • BS degree in Biology, Microbiology or related field
  • 2+ years of microbiology related research preferred
  • International business or registration experience preferred

Skills and Competencies

  • Must have the ability to study, identify and understand regulatory requirements
  • Prioritize, plan and manage laboratory testing required for product registration   
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Attention to detail, documentation and accurate record keeping
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Works well independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to manage large workloads at times and to adapt to reprioritization as necessary in a rapidly changing environment.
  • Ability to work on multiple, concurrent projects without manager oversight. 
  • Demonstrated organizational, work planning, and problem-solving skills.
