If the answer is yes - then look no further. Church & Dwight UK Ltd have an exciting opportunity for a permanent Junior Project Manager to join our team based in Folkestone, Kent (with 50% on site and 50% working from home).

Our Project Management team is responsible for supporting the organisation to deliver New Products effectively and efficiently, on time, in full and on cost. The Junior Project Manager is responsible for the professional project management of new product launches and product changes within a portfolio of projects, governed via a Stage Gate process. Leading cross functional teams in Europe and other international Church & Dwight organisations, you will be responsible for overseeing projects from initial feasibility through to launch implementation. This role will also include management of R&D and Supply Chain projects across our European organisation.

You have responsibility for operational task management of the project teams that you manage but no direct line management responsibility.  To be successful you need to manage the project team effectively:

  • Demonstrate good communication with team members

  • Effective team building and human interrelationships

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Overall responsibility for driving project “on time, in full and on cost” delivery. Overall project leadership for a portfolio of projects across several brands, working to a Stage Gate process.   Taking responsibility of the project following Stage Gate business case or charter approval.

  • Facilitate the definition of project goals, objectives, scope, milestones and deliverables.

  • Ensuring full feasibility analyses (technical and commercial assessment) are conducted to include all aspects of the project. Define project tasks and resource requirements with the project team and resource management.

  • Develop the project schedule and manage the project against it.

  • Ensure project risks are assessed, managed and mitigated as part of the project plan. 

  • Review risks and changes in risk status as part of routine progress reporting and project meetings.

  • Project progress reporting both in written reports and presentations at all levels within the organisation – both in Europe and internationally.

  • Running of regular project team meetings, assigning and tracking actions.

  • Change management & change control – identifying and recording change and assessing the impact on the project fundamentals of time, cost, quality and scope.

  • Coordinate the creation of Master Data to ensure that new products are set-up, live and costed on the SAP system on time.  For in-house produced products, responsibility for seeing that Bills of Material are created, approved and loaded in a timely manner.

  • When required, supporting the EU PMO Team with Master Data & Bill of Material Creation across all brands.

  • Manage smooth transition from project to first production and on-going production

  • On conclusion of project, conduct project evaluations, lessons learned and communicate results.

The ideal candidate will have experience of managing projects, ideally within the FMCG sector or a comparable industry. In addition, they will:

  • Project Management qualification: External certification (e.g. IPMA, APM, PMI, Prince2) is desirable, but not required.

  • Excellent interpersonal and influencing skills

  • Effective communicator at all levels. Good presentation skills and ability to conduct effective meetings and presentations with large teams.

  • Bias for action, with a professional and positive approach - a can do attitude with a willingness to go the extra mile when required

  • Dynamic, self-motivated and self sufficient

  • Ability to cope with pressure, assertive and adaptable
