Role Summary
The SAP Solution Architect will be responsible for oversight and the key role to drive design decisions of all technical aspects of the SAP landscape. This role is also responsible for SAP system health/maintenance, integration design and ABAP development. Leads and mentors a team of diverse information technology specialists covering SAP Basis, development & PI/CPI teams. This position also plays a pivotal role in governing SAP technical design of all ERP related projects. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected.
Role Accountabilities and Responsibilities
Manage and work with other teams to prioritize the SAP development workload
Oversees and delivers technical solutions using SAP technology primarily; ABAP based skills, SAP-CPI and other technologies as needed.
Engage with the Enterprise Architecture team regarding solution design discussions
Management and prioritization of SAP Basis activities, SAP development, and CPI/PI
Manages support of applications connected to SAP ERP, including 3rd party scheduling.
Leads team consisting of outsourced technical resources to ensure the effective and efficient delivery of solutions and business process enhancements.
Monitors and supports the SAP technical team responsible for production support and enhancement of SAP systems.
Responsible for the SAP ERP disaster recovery plan.
Accountable for maximizing the use of automated controls as it relates to changes and other traceability components like alerts, monitoring and availability of the SAP systems.
Assist in driving S4 HANA roadmap decisions in areas such as: Assessment tools, custom code disposition and fit analysis.
Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in Information Systems, Computer Science, Business, Engineering or equivalent work experience is required.
Project experience developing in an S4 HANA environment
Understanding of the NetWeaver foundation including interaction of the following components: Application Server ABAP (AS-ABAP), Application Server Java (AS-JAVA), and Process Integration (PI).
Understanding of SAP PI/CPI
In depth experience in SAP Integration with other systems and technologies.
Ability to manage multiple priorities with high flexibility and rapid response time
Experience leading design decisions and setting priorities
Skills and Competencies
Expertise in SAP ECC & S4 HANA development tools and technologies
Strong knowledge of SAP business processes in areas of Production Planning, Procurement, Quality, Sales, and Finance
Strong experience in developing SAP PI based integration
7+ years of hands-on ABAP experience
In depth experience in SAP Integration with other systems and technologies
Ability to work with offshore teams for project and product related tasks
Familiarity with good IT practices, including software development lifecycles, testing, and change and release management.
Strong problem solving and decision-making skills with excellent written and verbal communications skill
