Role Overview

This position is responsible for leading and managing the Demand aspect of the Sales & Operations Planning process for the business ensuring adherence to the calendar, participation by all stakeholders, innovation and continuous improvement of the process and systems.

This position is responsible for the management of the demand planning functions ensuring the team are seeking to work collaboratively internally and externally to meet and exceed the needs of the business.

Accountabilities & Responsibilities

  • Lead and facilitate the demand review inside the Sales & Operations Planning process for the business ensuring adherence to the calendar, participation by all stakeholders, innovation and continuous improvement of the process and systems.
  • Manage the demand planning activities of the business to ensure the development and execution of the demand plan within the scope of the S&OP process.
  • Seek out, lead and continuously improve projects as required to ensure systems, tools, processes and functions within the Planning team are implemented in a task orientated, efficient and effective manner.
  • Drive success within the Planning team by setting, measuring and reviewing key KPI targets for Forecast Accuracy.
  • Manage the relationships with internal stakeholders (Sales & Marketing).
  • Work collaboratively with internal stakeholders to seek innovation, advocate for change, communicate and celebrate success and drive improvements within the business.

Skills and Competencies

  • Demonstrated expert matter specialist in statistics, forecasting and forecasting methods with an understanding of their financial and operational impacts.
  • Demonstrated expert matter specialist in Material Requirements Planning.
  • Ability to challenge the status quo and thinking, via strong collaboration and influencing skills
  • Advanced analytical skills and strong critical thinking
  • Excellent interpersonal and presentation skills, both verbal and written
  • Self-motivated with the ability to plan ahead and use initiative
  • Strong negotiating skills.
  • Decision Making - Ability to analyze and interpret data to make accurate and expedient decisions
  • Effectively  able to communicate in order to influence.
  • Considers in advance the impact of actions on others and adjusts actions in order to  influence.

  • Ability to search records or files for critical information.

Qualification & Experience

  • At least 4-5 years of experience in management of Planning (Supply Demand or both) in an FMCG environment.
  • Experience within S&OP
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Advanced Forecasting & MRP system skills preferably JDA, Pronto
