If the answer is yes - then look no further. Church & Dwight UK Ltd have an exciting opportunity for an Engineering Projects & Facilities Manager to join our team based in Folkestone, Kent, on a permanent basis.
Based at our manufacturing site in Folkestone, this role is responsible for managing capital investment projects for all of our UK operations, ensuring the delivery of solutions that meet initial objectives, and meet safety and budget considerations. Communication is key and the role holder is responsible for managing the implementation of the projects into the business, clearly communicating progress to relevant stakeholders and senior management.
Additionally, the Engineering Projects & Facilities Manager has an on-site Facilities team of 4, who are responsible for the delivery of facility services for the UK sites and statutory compliance of all facilities and infrastructure assets.
Responsibilities include:
Capital investments
Preparation and submission of the business annual Capital Plan
Preparing investment projects and gaining approval
Execution of Capital Projects ensuring accurate delivery in terms of spend and time
Recommending investment opportunities
Keeping spend within the total annual approved budget
Communicating key project activities to senior management and where necessary to the whole workforce
Updating site records/drawings reflecting changes
Asset Management
Ensure that all capital equipment is managed to the guidelines, which includes but not limited to:
Additions to the Asset Register
Asset relocation notification
Asset removal/Idle Assets
Asset disposal/sale
Safety Responsibilities
Ensures that Safe Systems of work are used at all times
Ensures that HS&E Department are involved during all phases of any work
Contractor management
Facilities
Ensure the engineering team maintain all sites in a safe and clean order
Manage the revenue budget
Communicate when budgetary constraints impact on delivery of services
Responsible for planning applications and building regulation applications
Responsible for all security activities including the provision of physical protection and manned guarding for all sites
Skills and knowledge required:
The ideal candidate will have experience of an Engineering Projects Management role, having been responsible both for the delivery of capital projects (to budget and deadline) as well as for the management of people.
Engineering apprenticeship qualification in either an Electrical or Mechanical discipline and a level of further education
Project Management Qualification and/or extensive experience in managing engineering projects
Extensive knowledge of equipment and suppliers
Management / Leadership skills with excellent communication skills
Be autonomous, action-orientated and pragmatic with a commitment to deliver results
Proactively seek improvement, is a solution provider and a problem solver
Embrace and accelerate change in a fast-paced environment
Thrive on challenges and keep a healthy attitude under pressure
Adapt to changing priorities as needed and escalates issues before they become problems
