Qualification: ACCA/CIMA/Accounting and Taxation Professional L7

We have a fantastic opportunity within the FMCG industry, renowned for our portfolio of leading brands, to join as an Assistant Commercial Accountant whilst studying towards your professional qualification. 

The Role: 

As an Assistant Commercial Accountant at Church & Dwight you will work within the Commercial function of our Finance Department. You will work on a diverse range of tasks which will further your knowledge and skills as well as adding value to our business. You will receive a tailored induction and gain knowledge from our highly experienced team members. You will provide financial support to the sales and marketing team with new product appraisals and evaluation of marketing activities, helping drive business decisions whilst bringing your own ideas and helping to improve the way we work. The role is full of variety; it’s fast paced and allows you to contribute fully to the commercial aspects of the business. 

What we Offer: 

This role will provide full training both in the workplace and towards your professional accountancy qualification. Within the 36-month scheme, you will study for your qualifications whilst getting hands on learning experience, we also provide offsite training and study leave. The role will be office based to start, once you have completed your training, we offer Hybrid working; with the option to work from home 2/3 days per week. We are a passionate and collaborative team with numerous social events throughout the year. 

Regular Duties: 

  • Assisting with the month end accounting close and help ensure management accounts are completed timely and accurately 

  • Assisting with monthly reforecasting process and annual budgeting 

  • Producing financial reports and variance analysis for the UK business 

  • Assisting with analysis of the departmental budgets 

  • Business Partnering with our Marketing department 

  • Assisting with project work, such as: on-boarding acquisitions, on-boarding IT systems, new product development, plus ad-hoc work 

  • Duties to be reviewed periodically 

Qualifications: 

  • Graduate with 2:1 degree or above, ideally in Accounting and Finance. Or AAT qualified with experience in a relatable role. 

  • Strategic thinker with an ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment 

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills and the ability to influence non-financial members of staff. 

  • Excellent attention to detail with the ability to deliver to deadlines.  

  • Be competent in MS Office and advanced in MS Excel. 

  • Strong organisational skills and ability to manage/deliver projects. 

  • Value teamwork, diversity, and integrity.
