General Summary:

Under the direction of the VMS QC / QA Coordinator, this position will perform product releases for dietary supplement products produced in York, any FDA-regulated products produced or shipped from other locations and all other finished goods produced or inventoried in York.  This position will also be responsible for performing cycle counts to ensure the integrity of all finished good inventory.  The person must have the ability to investigate product flow in any of the following areas:  finished goods receiving, shipping and other day-to-day activities of the warehouse operation.  This position will investigate, resolve and document inventory discrepancies.  They will be responsible for placing product on hold and following up on product disposition.  The candidate will need to be able to work independently and have a good working knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices.  They will also be responsible for proper documentation which meets FDA requirements.

Essential Functions:

Responsible at all times for promoting a safety culture and awareness within their area of responsibility. Completes all finished goods inventory status changes generated from various source points, after ensuring that proper documentation is provided. Completes inspections of all regulated materials returning to the plant as a customer return. Maintain detailed and accurate records of hold products and release documentation. Ability to generate inventory related reports associated to the maintenance and/or inspection of hold products in a timely manner. Understands the product recall process, and be able to provide requested data in the required timeframe with 100% accuracy. Maintains electronic and paper records for all Hold Notification Forms and VMS Hold Notification Forms, as well as makes any systematic status changes as directed by the forms. Oversees and maintains accurate pallet placarding. Coordinates pallet moves based on Hold Notification Forms by working directly with Warehouse Coordinator or Customer Service Leader. Completes inspections of finished goods as requested as individual needs arise, for various reasons including lot code discrepancies, etc. Pulls samples as needed for VMS inspection and/or testing. Reviews quality documentation to determine product disposition and update material status systematically as per applicable SOPs. Participates on process improvement teams and promotes teamwork. Identify and champion opportunities for continuous improvement initiatives. Ensures all quality and food safety practices are followed at all times. Other projects and duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Excellent interpersonal skills – ability to build positive relationships at all levels of the organization Excellent communications skills – ability to communicate clearly and concisely in multiple media – verbal, written, etc.  Must have ability to communicate clearly in English – verbal and written. Excellent organizational/time management skills.  Strong attention to detail, as is required when releasing product regulated by the FDA. Ability to prioritize work assignments in a fast-paced work environment, calm under pressure and flexibility to adapt to changing schedules as appropriate. Strong computer skills (SAP, WMS, and MS Office Suite). Working knowledge of Crystal reports, Swisslog WMS and MRP systems preferred. Strong math skills In-depth knowledge of distribution and quality operations, including equipment, materials, work flow, etc.

Education:

High school diploma or GED required. 1-3 years previous quality control / quality assurance / inventory control experience in a fast-paced regulated manufacturing & distribution environment preferred.  Experience in dietary supplements, CPG (Consumer Packaged Goods), food or pharmaceuticals industry a plus.
