Responsible for all packaging department utility duties, line cleanup, and general production line support. 

Starting base hourly rate is $20.68. Working hours at the Old Fort Facility are Sunday –Thursday 11:30pm-7:30am.

Essential Functions:

  • Cleans and maintains all packaging machines and equipment such that the machines, area and equipment are free of glue buildup, excess product, and grease buildup.  Lubricates equipment as directed.
  • Perform minor equipment repairs and preventative maintenance
  • Maintains a clean and safe operating area by sweeping the floors around the lines, stretch wrappers, palletizers, mezzanines, and bicarb transfers, dumping the trash/recyclables, and removing scrap, etc.  General housekeeping to AIB standards.
  • Sets up packaging materials for packaging crews and assist operators and mechanics in the reclaim of off-spec product and operation of the “Box Gobbler”.
  • Packaging Machine Operator relief duties for overtime, vacation, and production coverage as needed.
  • Assists in compounding duties
  • Assists in meeting high quality standards and production quotas in the Packaging Department.
  • Subject to overtime as needed to meet production demands
  • Familiar with the plant food safety program and basic HACCP principles

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Work any shift during the week as well as weekends
  • Use safe operating procedures and judgment
  • Operate forklift in a safe and timely manner.
  • Follow all facility rules to maintain quality and integrity of both raw materials and finished products
  • Lift 50 pounds consistently

Education and Experience:

  • Minimum of a High School Diploma / GED is required
  • Mechanical Experience preferred
