We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Sr Quality Engineer at our Vancouver, Washington manufacturing plant. This position is responsible for onsite supplier quality oversight, R&D trials and CAPA system.

The programs must be in compliance to FDA Regulations, Global Food Safety Standards and customer requirements. The daily work involves leading or supporting investigations, assembling data and writing reports, process monitoring, and data trending.

The Senior QE will assist in data collection and analysis for new and marketed product support including new launches, line extensions, and cost saving projects.  As Senior QE, the role will demonstrate a high level of Quality Engineering skills in root cause analysis, statistics and leadership.  May direct Quality Technicians.

  • Follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), company policies, safety policies and practices, quality standards, and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).

  • Ensure all tasks are performed according to safety, quality and regulatory procedures.

  • Supervise all customer/consumer complaint investigations to determine root cause.

  • Drive continuous improvement for Suppliers through application of quality tools, Quality System metrics, and surveillance programs.

  • Perform analysis and evaluate QMS to meet C&D and regulatory requirements, including Food Safety initiatives.

  • Support the Global Supplier QMS and Supplier Quality Metrics. 

  • Drive the timely closure of complaints files.

  • Supervise, develop, and coach quality engineering associates.

  • Ensure Quality System complies with requirements outlined in the C&D Global Quality Manual, Global Food Safety Standards, and FDA cGMP regulations.

  • Apply Quality Engineer skills to oversee the plant validation program, to perform Statistical Process Control (SPC) tests for line capability understanding and monitoring, and to lead plant-relevant input into FMEA’s and lessons learned for new and marketed products.

  • Facilitate problem-solving (root cause analysis and CAPA). 

  • Run the CAPA Board providing metrics to ensure investigations are properly conducted meeting assigned timetables, (internally and at suppliers).

  • May work cross-functionally with Manufacturing, Purchasing, and R&D.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.


BS/MS degree in related field (Quality Engineering certification desirable), minimum of 8 years quality experience in the consumer products, manufacturing and/or pharmaceutical industries, and experience effectively partnering with operations while working in a plant environment and/or equivalent combination of experience and education that could likely provide the required knowledge, skills, and abilities needed to perform the job. Lean Six Sigma Green Belt preferred, Black Belt a plus.


  • Knowledge of cGMPs, 21 CFR Part 111, 117, or Global Food Safety Standards, or other ISO type manufacturing systems.

  • Knowledge of Quality Engineering.

  • High initiative with demonstrated leadership, results orientated.

  • Excellent influence, persuasion, verbal and written communication skills required.

  • Ability to maintain punctuality and predictable attendance.

  • Ability to wear appropriate personal protective equipment and clean room attire; perform moderate physical activity, requires standing and/or walking for more than four (4) hours per day and up to twelve (12) hours per shift and lift and carry items weighing 50 pounds; and perform work onsite in a light industrial environment, including some exposure to non-toxic dust.
