Global Markets Group/Export Finance Intern Placement

We have an exciting opportunity for a paid internship within our GMG/Export Finance Team, where you will be able to gain valuable work experience in a global FMCG company.

The Opportunity

We are seeking an intern to join our Export department, based in Folkestone, Kent on a 12-month contract starting in Summer 2022.

As an Export Finance Intern, you will support the team in delivering a first class financial service to the wider business whilst gaining invaluable skills and experience.

Our Finance Internship is full of variety; the role is fast-paced, and allows you to contribute fully in the commercial aspects of the business. Under the management of the EMEA Commercial Team, you will provide financial support to the sales and marketing team to help drive business decisions. In addition, this varied role will consist of -

  • Assisting with the month end accounting close and help ensure management accounts are completed timely and accurately.

  • Assisting with monthly reforecasting process and annual planning.

  • Monthly Cost Centre analysis and review.

  • Assist with profitability analysis.

  • Aid with process improvement in a complex, fast-paced environment.

  • Other ad hoc projects.

Throughout your internship, you will also have regular reviews and receive feedback from your manager for personal growth.  It will also certify that your internship is going smoothly.

During the internship, you will receive a tailored induction as well as regular feedback and reviews with your line manager.

Lastly, we strongly encourage our interns to get the most out of our program, be able to walk away feeling proud of the contributions they made to the company and for them to be able to shout about it on their CV’s!

Who we are looking for

We welcome applications from current students looking to undertake an industry placement year and graduates seeking their first Finance opportunity.

The ideal candidate will:

  • Be an undergraduate/postgraduate ideally in Economics/Accountancy & Finance or Business Studies.

  • Have excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Be able to demonstrate a “can do” attitude and desire to continuously improve.

  • Have the confidence and ability to work with various team members within the business.

  • Intermediate/Advanced MS Excel.

  • Have the ability to challenge on processes.

In the UK we employ over 370 people who undertake a range of roles from Research & Development & Marketing through to Purchasing, Production and Supply Chain. These teams are supported by departments such as Finance & Human Resources.
