Job Overview and Responsibilities:
Church & Dwight’s International marketing team conducts business in over 130 countries and represents the fastest growing business unit within Church & Dwight. The Group Brand Manager, International Marketing - Household, Beauty Care, & Emerging Markets NPD is a central part of this team and is responsible for shaping and driving alignment on global brand strategies, accelerating global new product launch efforts, and for serving as the steward of global brand equity on selected brands. She or he will accomplish these objectives through close partnership with Church & Dwight subsidiary and U.S. domestic marketing and will be responsible for contributing to a culture of collaboration and growth across the company. As a key responsibility of this role, she or he will also serve as the International leader of the Emerging Marketing NPD efforts with support from the Director of International Marketing. This is a new responsibility that was added to our team in December of 2020, and has a dedicated Brand Manager reporting into this GBM role to drive the incremental opportunities associated with strategic new product initiatives in our fastest growing markets.
Key brands that will fall under this Group Brand Manager’s responsibility include our fast-growing and most recent acquisition brand, Flawless, as well as other high growth equities such as OxiClean, Nair, and our portfolio of household & laundry brands under the flagship Arm & Hammer brand. This person will have responsibility for three Brand Managers, as well as an Assistant Brand Manager to assist them.
Primary responsibilities will include the following:
Lead the development of global brand growth strategies for this set of brands including geographic expansion plans, profitability improvement plans, competitive defense plans and the evaluation of white space / future M&A opportunities.
Drive the strategic development of the Emerging Market NPD role to ensure we are outlining an insight-based robust long-term pipeline of projects that will drive incremental sales and maximization of unique opportunities in our fast-growing Emerging Markets.
Monitor and ensure action against competitive activity and meaningful global trends
New Product / Claim Pipeline Development:
Partner with subsidiary marketers and GNPI team to identify global new product / claim needs.
Maximize the opportunities driven by the Emerging Markets NPD role, and ensure cross-functional and management stakeholder alignments are achieved with efficiency and proper focus.
Drive global alignment behind proposed new product pipeline and ensure rapid roll-out and adoption once launched.
Develop and maintain global brand books and Guiding Lights, review / approve creative briefs and review / approve brand copy (advertising & packaging) to ensure global consistency of all brands within responsibility of this role.
Share global and subsidiary communication learnings, success stories, best practices and test results with all markets.
Ensure equity alignment in all projects/activities associated with the Emerging Markets NPD role.
Education / Experience / Requirements:
College graduate required. MBA preferred. Must be self-motivated and able to work under tight deadlines both independently and as part of a team.
8-10 years of marketing experience required. Ideal candidate will have both classic CPG / FMCG marketing experience, including NPD development.
Specific experience working in / with international markets strongly preferred.
Must have excellent English oral and written communications skills. Additional language proficiency (French, Spanish, Mandarin) preferred, but not required.
The job will be based at Church & Dwight corporate headquarters in Ewing, New Jersey. Requires occasional (~10%) international travel.
