If the answer is yes - then look no further. Church & Dwight UK Ltd have an exciting opportunity for a driven European Project Management Office (PMO) Manager to join our European R&D team based in Folkestone, Kent.

The European Project Management Office (PMO) Manager is responsible for leading our European Project Management team to deliver a portfolio of projects via our stage gate process.  Communication skills are critical as this role will need to collaborate with the organisation’s leadership team to understand the differing needs across the organisation, with a focus on improving the agility of the PM team and project processes.

As a multi-national organisation, with subsidiaries in the UK, France and Germany and a US parent organisation, the ability to collaborate across international organisations is key to ensure projects and systems are globalised where possible.

This role is responsible for leading the European Project team of 9, with a focus on mentoring and coaching the team.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Direct Report Management including growth and development

  • Monthly/Quarterly business plans summaries

  • Portfolio Resource Management

  • Stage Gate Management

  • Program Management for improvements/acquisitions

  • Central liaison across the global business within PMO function

The ideal candidate will have significant Project Management experience within a multi-national organsisation in a similar industry, such as FMCG or Pharma. Additionally they will:

  • Be a proven self-starter, able to take the initiative to solve problems and uncover opportunities.

  • Have proven experience in Innovation and development projects, particularly within the FMCG sector, to achieve successful project outcomes

    • Able to manage complex cross functional projects

    • Experience in managing and mitigating risk.

  • Ideally hold an external certification (e.g. IPMA, APM, PMI, Prince2) and experience with MS Project essential. 

  • Have great knowledge of project and change management

  • Have good knowledge of resource and project management tools

  • Have excellent interpersonal and influencing skills

  • Be an effective communicator at all levels, with good presentation skills and the ability to conduct effective meetings and presentations with large teams.

  • Have a bias for action, with a professional and positive approach - a can do attitude with a willingness to go the extra mile when required

  • Have the ability to cope with pressure, assertive and adaptable

This role is based at our Head office in Folkestone, Kent, with approximately 50% of the time in the office and 50% working from home. Business travel within the UK and Europe will be required on a regular basis.
