Benefits Manager

Reporting to the Senior Manager, Benefits, the Benefits Manager will provide oversight and management of all benefit programs, including medical, dental, vision, life, disability, COBRA, FSA, HSA, 401k, and any other employee benefit programs. They will also be an advocate and internal specialist for benefits and wellness.

Health and Welfare

  • Support company culture of continuous improvement, automation, and standardization
  • Actively manage and build relationships with all external benefit vendors
  • Manage the annual enrollment process and coordinate implementation of any new vendors
  • Act as benefits SME in build out of internal service center
  • Resolve operational issues with carriers, investigate discrepancies, and provide information in non-routine situations
  • Partner and collaborate with HRIS, Payroll, and external vendors to resolve enrollment, eligibility, enrollment issues


  • Manage the 401(k) audit and supports the corporate audit and defined benefit plan audits annually.
  • Files timely 5500’s and completes all other required filings and notices (e.g., PCORI, SARS, SMMs).
  • Aggregates and reports the ongoing performance, analytics, and delivery metrics of retirement benefit plan
  • Assist with the preparation of retirement benefit plan materials including plan guides, participant correspondence, targeted communications and/or employee or HR presentations/ trainings
  • Keep an external focus on industry best practices, regulatory requirements, and the competitive environment, actively shares that knowledge internally within the HR Benefits community

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships within all levels of the organization
  • Strong critical thinking skills with a high attention to detail
  • Comfortable initiating, prioritizing, and managing multiple deliverables concurrently
  • Ability to analyze data to develop make meaningful recommendations
  • Strong attention to detail with a customer service focus
  • Comfort working in a fast paced, changing environment


  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • 10+ years working with health and welfare and retirement (qualified and non-qualified plans)
  • Strong operational experience
  • Workday experience preferred
  • Experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment preferred
