We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Quality Control representative to join our Blend team at our Vancouver, Washington manufacturing facilities!

The current opening is available on our blend 2nd shift, which works Monday through Thursday from 3:00 PM to 1:30 AM.

The base rate for this position is $16.50 per hour plus 2nd shift receives a $0.50 per hour shift differential.

Under general supervision, this position performs specialized and routine production inspection activities according to established Standard Operating Procedures and Good Manufacturing Practices requirements. 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Following Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), company policies, safety policies and practices, quality standards and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP). 

  • Providing assistance for all questions regarding quality defects. 

  • Auditing all areas for quality conformance. 

  • Ensuring batch documentation is filled out according to requirements.  

  • Updating and completing paperwork and logs as required, including observation reports. 

  • Photocopying, sorting, and/or filing documents or reports as requested. 

  • Recording, manually or electronically, and filing documentation for applicable quality records. 

  • Informing Quality Control Shift Lead and Manager on all personnel issues. 

  • Bringing about improvements to the Quality Control procedures.  

  • Performing production area verification or assessments following exact established processes; including but not limited to: 

  • Good Manufacturing Practices 

  • Equipment checks 

  • Weight checks 

  • Facility sanitation 

  • Packaging quality 

  • Lot and Code dates  

  • Demonstrating a working knowledge of production blend equipment and its related impact on overall quality.  

  • Identifying urgent situations, assessing the nature of the problem then containing, resolving, or recommending action quickly. 

  • Ensuring all personnel in the clean rooms and production areas are wearing the proper GMP attire. 

  • Ensuring proper cleaning is performed prior to next production run. 

  • Ensuring the line clearance inspection is performed before each production run and inspecting the production area to ensure that all components from previous run are removed before another production run is started. 

  • Checking the Equipment Use Log to ensure it is correctly and completely filled out before each production run. 

  • Verifying that the components match on the Work Order, Bill of Materials (BOM) and actual kit. 

  • Stopping the lines immediately if a discrepancy is found, contacting the Quality Control Lead or Manager, and helping to perform an investigation. 

  • Pulling aseptic quality samples at all applicable production steps which includes but is not limited to blend product. 

  • Cross-training Quality Control Floor Staff (QCFS) – Manufacturing Warehouse and/or Quality Control Floor Staff (QCFS) – Manufacturing per applicable job descriptions. 

  • Performing other duties as required. 

MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS:  

High school diploma, GED, and/or any equivalent combination of experience and education that could likely provide the required knowledge and abilities needed to perform the job. 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILL, AND ABILITIES: 

  • Ability to read, understand, and carry out oral and written instructions. 

  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others. 

  • Ability to analyze complex quality system requirements and handle multiple tasks. 

  • Ability to sort, check, count, and verify numbers. 

  • Ability to prepare routine administrative paperwork. 

  • Ability to receive, track, and distribute materials, supplies, and equipment. 

  • Ability to detect problems and report information to appropriate personnel. 

  • Ability to maintain quality, safety, and/or infection control standards. 

  • Problem-solving skills. 

  • Good interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills. 

  • Ability to define problems, collect data, and establish facts. 

  • Ability to comply with standards and procedures. 

  • Ability to perform moderate physical activity such as lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds; stand and/or walk more than four to six (4-6) hours and up to twelve (12) hours per day; and work onsite in a light industrial environment, including some exposure to non-toxic dust. 

  • Good understanding of 21 CFR 110, 21 CFR 111, ANSI 173-2005 and the USP Dietary Supplement GMP Requirements.   

  • Ability to maintain punctuality and predictable attendance.
