Brand Manager, Global New Product Innovation

Role Summary

Responsible for creating a long-term pipeline of innovations and commercializing new innovation  for multiple Personal Care brand(s). Oversees strategic and tactical operation of brand(s) to deliver results and set up brand(s) for future success while developing Assistant and/or Associate Brand Managers.

Role Accountabilities and Responsibilities

  • Creation and commercialization of new products including identifying unmet consumer needs, creating and testing concepts, artwork and packaging development, development of Sales Selling materials, product positioning and partnering with the cross-functional team and Plants to bring the product to market
  • Identify and assessing new product growth opportunities, including: category/competitive analysis to validate size of opportunity; consumer validation of product idea; R&D validation of the technical pathway; Operations validation of the manufacturing strategy; Finance validation of P&L
  • Initiate market research and insights to define unmet consumer needs
  • Develop and test concepts to validate ideas
  • Develop expertise in the categories of the SBU, including competitive assessment, global trend analysis, supplier assessments, consumer and customers/channel opportunities
  • Lead new product initiatives in collaboration with multi-functional teams
  • Provide direction and guidance to Assistant/Associate Brand Manager(s) to maximize their contribution to results and to advance their development.

Education and Experience

  • BA/BS required; MBA strongly preferred
  • Current or previous experience required as a Brand Manager
  • 5-8 years in Marketing (CPG, OTC, Cosmetics)
  • Experience in category analysis and forecasting
  • Familiarity with common consumer marketing research tools and techniques
  • Experience with P&L analysis
  • Ability to lead complex, strategic projects through to commercialization
  • Experience managing and influencing cross-functional teams in conversations and in presentations
  • Innovation experience is a plus
