Role Summary                                                          

The CSP SR MGR Business Planning serves as the “one point of contact” for both the field sales team and the internal functional teams for all aspects of the ongoing business planning process.  They are responsible for leading the planning process, coordinating with all key stakeholders, developing the roadmap, setting the direction, and providing strategic vision and leadership while optimizing the ongoing process so that it best meets Church & Dwight’s business needs and objectives.

Role Accountabilities and Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the coordination of customer businesses plans that meet brand strategies and deliver corporate growth, trade spend and profit objectives
  • Primary Liaison between Customer Strategic Planning (CSP), Field Sales, Sales Finance, and Sales Analytics (SABS) for the Business Planning Process
  • Facilitate the identification of trade specific sales opportunities and potential risks for the rolling business plans; responsible to communicate those with the cross-functional teams
  • Manages the Trade Fund Allocation (TFA) model at the Field Team Level to ensure focus on strategic customers and brands; Input into SABS TFA model adjustments
  • Manage the timeline for the planning process including Quarterly Business Review Meetings bringing together Field Sales and Cross-functional partners, Sales Meeting and Launches, and Field based planning meetings
  • Facilitates, communicates, and ensures execution of any in-year analysis for trade or quota adjustments driven by internal business needs
  • Ensure alignment of Customer Business Plans with the CSP published Sales Playbook (DSMPs)
  • Manage the Slotting Budget and deployment to Field Sales teams
  • Continuously evaluates the effectiveness of the planning process and makes recommendations and adjustments accordingly
  • Provides leadership and planning direction to the CSP Channel team members within the SBU Pods, as well as, the field sales leaders. 

Education and Experience                                                          

  • Bachelor’s Degree Required
  • 6-8 years’ experience with emphasis on Trade Marketing, Field Sales and Sales Operations within a CPG Headquarters environment.
  • In depth knowledge of retailer go to market strategies and class of trade /channel dynamics
  • Demonstrated strong analytical, financial management, business acumen and problem-solving skills
  • Strong understanding of syndicated data systems and reporting methodologies
  • Strong communication skills (written, verbal, presentation and interpersonal skills)
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office: Excel, PowerPoint
  • Knowledge of TPM/TPO systems
  • Experience with analysis of retail promotion effectiveness and efficiency
