Are you an experienced Senior Packaging Technologist with knowledge across a range of packaging/components? Do you have experience of developing a concept through to full scale manufacturing?

If the answer is yes - then look no further. Church & Dwight UK Ltd have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Packaging Technologist to join our R&D team based in Folkestone, Kent.

This role is responsible for driving the development, validation and execution of new packaging elements with excellence to full scale manufacturing. They will work with a range of business partners to effectively manage projects including the optimisation of existing packaging elements through cost savings, sustainability and manufacturing efficiency improvements aspects. The Senior Packaging Technologist will be an expert in their discipline within the business and will have a Packaging Technologist reporting to them.

Key duties include to:

  • Develop, validate and execute packaging testing plans.

  • Identify, develop, validate and execute process improvement for flawless packaging development.

  • Source, review and advise technical drawings / die lines.

  • Offer factory support for pack design related engineering and quality issues, leading and supporting RCA.

  • Identify resource / prioritisation issues and report to line manager.

  • Implement transport tests to assure outer packaging and pallet designs are sufficient to deliver high quality product to customers.

  • Issue and maintain packaging specifications as well as reports on outcome of industrial line trials, included in Technical dossiers and customer specifications.

  • Keep up to date with sustainability requirements and guide other packaging technologists to integrate into future packaging development.

The ideal candidate will have a significant level of experience of New Packaging Development from a similar industry. They will also:

  • Hold a University degree or Diploma through an accredited body in Packaging or relevant Engineering discipline; or equivalent industry experience.

  • Have significant knowledge of the development of various types of packaging and packaging components like Cans, Pumps, Actuators, Bottles, Tubes, Corrugates etc. and technical testing of the considered elements. Specifically, Aerosol expertise.

  • Have knowledge of the manufacturing techniques for packing consumer products.

  • Have excellent project management skills, ownership mentality, with strong results orientation and business acumen.

  • Be able to manage multiple projects, work cross-functionally/internationally, and deliver against company business goals and objectives.

  • Have excellent communication and presentation skills.

  • Have proven delivery focus.
