Are you an experienced Indirect Buyer within a global organisation? Do you have a background in FMCG, Pharma, Food/Drink? Do you have a proven record of delivering a range of cost saving initiatives?
If the answer is yes - then look no further as Church & Dwight UK Ltd have an exciting opportunity for an Indirect Buyer based at our office in Folkestone, Kent.
The Indirect Buyer is responsible for indirect procurement activities across our UK and EU Sites. The role holder will provide support to the European Head of Procurement as well as taking the lead on direct procurement savings linked to our EU supply chain.
Key responsibilities include:
Exciting procurement led savings initiatives – as identified by Direct Procurement and other supply chain teams.
Proactively reviewing future needs and leading the procurement/sourcing process through marketplace competitions where appropriate, driving company values within.
Leading supplier negotiations on behalf of the organisation, and brief, present and deliver recommended contracting solutions to senior stakeholders.
Maintain the strategic outlook over a 5-year period and ensuring continuation of services is maintained while still achieving best value for money for the business. This will involve managing a number of strategic relationships with our suppliers and internal stakeholders as well as industry partners.
Developing a 5-year plan to deliver a cost down program YOY – in line with company defined cost reduction program – and report status monthly
Attending regular supplier review meetings to ensure they are delivering to contract SLAs.
The ideal candidate will be an experienced Indirect Buyer, having worked within a multi-national organisation within a similar industry (for example FMCG, Pharma, food/drink). They will also:
Be CIPS Qualified or hold another relevant Professional Qualification
Have proven Procurement experience with a track record of delivering cost savings and service enhancements through best practice and management of the tender process;
Enthusiastic, proactive and adaptable individual able to deal with complex situations and effectively influence senior Internal and external stakeholders and suppliers;
Be an experienced Microsoft Office and SAP user
Have excellent English both written and oral, other languages particularly French would be desirable
Have strong analytical abilities and the ability to resolve issues effectively.
Be a skilled negotiator regarding cost, relationships and contracts
Please note the role will require regular business travel.
