We currently have an excellent opportunity for an Associate Chemist located at our Princeton, NJ location.
The Associate Chemist will execute product development activities under the supervision of an R&D Manager in a manner consistent with the C&D R&D Core Principles of teamwork, consumer and customer focus, personal responsibility and integrity, and ethical behavior and practices.
Develop laboratory samples and product prototypes to meet project design parameters
Identify and/or develop methods and conduct tests to evaluate products or prototypes against established goals
Record and analyze data; draw conclusions and make recommendations for next steps
Recommend experimental designs for prototypes and test methods
Evaluate new technologies for use in products/prototypes
Interact on project teams within R&D (Packaging, Processing, Consumer Insights, Consumer Relations) and with outside suppliers and vendors
Initiate product, raw material and test method specifications; enter into PLM
Collect and help analyze consumer feedback, understand consumer needs and the gaps between needs and existing products, prepare summary report and initiate/conduct follow-through tasks.
Education and Experience:
Must have a BS degree from an accredited institution in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering with 0-2 years of relevant experience in product development.
Skills and Competencies:
• Solid laboratory experimental execution, data recording and safety practices
• Ability to work independently on multiple, concurrent assigned projects with periodic direct supervision
• Good oral and written communication skills
• Computer proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
